Abstract:
An apparatus and method for field-injection electrostatic spray deposition of medical devices like stents. The apparatus includes a medical device holder, which applies a first electrical potential to the medical device, and an electrically insulative electrostatic spray dispensing device having an electrically conductive electrode, which applies a second electrical potential, creating an electrical potential difference sufficient to attract charged coating material particles emitted from an orifice of the dispensing device toward the medical device. The electrode may be sharpened to create a localized, high-strength electric field to improve the charge injection into the coating material or coating solution.
Abstract:
A dumbbell has a core rod and a cloth cover. The core rod has a supporting rod and a bag. The bag is mounted around the supporting rod. A first filling space is formed between the supporting rod and the bag. The first filling space is filled with a weight material. The cloth cover is mounted around the core rod and seals the core rod. The cloth cover has a holding portion and two weight portions. The two weight portions are respectively formed at two ends of the holding portion. A second filling space is formed between the core rod and the holding portion. The second filling space is filled with the weight material. A respective third filling space is formed between the core rod and each one of the two weight portions.
Abstract:
A method of producing a tubular member which includes providing at least one micro-extruder configured to extrude at least one material and providing a surface configured to accept the material extruded from the micro-extruder.
Abstract:
A system and method for the electrostatic spray application of a coating material onto a medical device. The coating material is electrically charged and an atomizer is used to atomize the coating material, creating electrically charged droplets which coat the medical device. In alternate embodiments, a swirl atomizer, a pressure atomizer, an ultrasound atomizer, a rotary atomizer, and an effervescent atomizer are used to atomize the coating material.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a water soluble container which contains a composition useful for hard surface cleaning. The composition comprises a cationic surfactant having germicidal properties, a non-ionic surfactant, an alkali salt, an organic acid; and optionally, conventional additives, where the composition is in powder form. The water soluble containers can be made by thermoforming or injection molding.
Abstract:
Alkaline aqueous hard surface cleaning compositions which exhibit good cleaning efficacy against hardened dried or baked on greasy soil deposits. They are storage stable, and are not undesirably irritating to the skin or mucous tissues of the user. These compositions comprise in percent by weight (based on 100% total weight of a composition):0.01-0.85% wt. nonionic surfactant compound based on an amine oxide;0-1.5% wt. chelating agent;0.01-2.5% wt. caustic;3.0-9.0% wt. glycol ether solvent system comprising one glycol ether or glycol ether acetate solvent having a solubility in water of not more than 20% wt., and a second glycol ether or glycol ether acetate having a solubility of approximately 100% wt., wherein the ratio of the former to the latter is from 0.5:1 to 1.5:1;0-5.0% wt. of a water soluble amine containing organic compound;0-2.5% wt. soil anti-redeposition agent;0-2.5% wt. optional constituents. The compositions according to the invention contain no anionic or cationic type surfactant constituents, and include no more than 10% wt. of volatile organic constituents (VOCs). Methods for the use of such cleaning compositions, and processes for their production are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A medical balloon catheter including a catheter shaft and an inflatable balloon secured to a distal portion of the catheter shaft. One or more cutting blades are secured to the inflatable balloon by a first polymeric adhesive material forming a mounting pad encasing a base portion of the cutting blade therein, and a second polymeric adhesive material adhesively bonding the mounting pad to a surface of the balloon. The first polymeric adhesive material has a first ductility and the second polymeric adhesive material has a second ductility greater than the first ductility.
Abstract:
Medical devices and methods for making and using the same are disclosed. An example medical device may include a guidewire. The guidewire may include an elongate shaft. The shaft may include a porous metal alloy. The porous metal alloy may be arranged so that the porous metal alloy has a first pore distribution along a first portion of the shaft and a second pore distribution different from the first pore distribution along a second portion of the shaft.
Abstract:
A stent formed from a bioabsorbable polymer matrix including at least one bioabsorbable polymer and at least one therapeutic agent dispersed therein, and methods of making the same.
