摘要: A building element selected from a roofing tile or siding element may be formed from a first cementitious mixture and a second cementitious mixture containing a photocatalytic cementitious mixture. The first cementitious mixture and the photocatalytic cementitious mixture may be co-formed into a shaped uncured two layer monolith having a base layer of the first cementitious mixture and a top layer of the photocatalytic cementitious mixture. The shaped uncured two layer monolith is then cured. The resulting building element may be algae-resistant.

摘要: A roofing shingle may include a substrate, granules and multilayer infrared light reflecting film particles. In some cases, a roofing shingle may include a substrate, granules and a multilayer infrared light reflecting film disposed either above or below the granules. Such roofing shingles may exhibit improved solar reflectivity. An infrared light reflecting mixture may include inorganic granules and polymeric multilayer infrared light reflecting film particles. An existing construction surface may be treated to improve its solar reflectivity.

摘要: A delivery system for delivering an anti-microbial agent to a surface in a time release manner. The delivery system includes one or more polymeric particles (e.g., microspheres, core/shell particles, latexes, porogens, cryogenically ground beads, condensation polymer particles, flakes, etc.) and at least anti-microbial agent attached thereto. The anti-microbial agents may or may not be soluble in the polymeric particle or in the monomeric precursor used to make the polymeric particle. The anti-microbial agent can be incorporated into the microsphere using either a post polymerization addition process or an in situ addition process. The delivery system can be fashioned to provide characteristics that are application specific. Examples of such delivery systems include but are not limited to substrates (such as tapes, sheets of material and the like) coated with the releasably loaded polymeric particles, sprayable dispersions or suspensions of these polymeric particles and the like.

摘要: The present application is directed to an article comprising a dusty surface and a coating on the dusty surface comprising a coating polymer having a Tg less −20° C. and a method of reducing dust. In some embodiments, the polymer has a Tg less than −30° C., and in specific embodiments, the polymer has a Tg less than −45° C. The dusty surface may be, for example, crushed stone, coal, iron ore, gravel, sand or other aggregates (e.g. a roofing granule,) or a soil surface.Generally, the coating polymer comprises a polyacrylate, polyurethane, synthetic and natural rubber, silicone and other organic polymers. In specific embodiments, the coating polymer comprises an acrylic emulsion polymer.
