    摘要: A lamp assembly including a number of light sources each utilized in conjunction with an optical element. The optical elements include a body of light transmitting material which further includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a front surface and a plurality of facets. The facets receive light through the front surface and reflect light through the top surface. The assembly further includes a manifold defined by the optical elements. When viewed in a direction toward the top surface, a majority of the optical elements have a common shape, preferably a pie wedge shape.

    摘要: Headlamp system for an automotive vehicle has an individual lamp for illuminating a high intensity zone and a spread zone of an image surface. The system includes a first light source having a substantially elliptical reflector for directing light to a spread light zone on an image surface and a second light source having a filament mounted in an axial direction to the length. A second reflector has a generally elliptical shape, a first focus, a second focus and a magnification. The second reflector directs light to a high intensity zone on the image surface. A light shield having a generally planar surface is mounted substantially normal to the longitudinal axis substantially at the second focus. An aspheric lens having an aperture having a width is located between the shield and image surface. The maximum magnification of the filament at the aspheric lens is substantially the width of the aperture.

Light collected by an ellipsoidal and hyperboloidal portion of the reflective surface is directed into a light guide.     摘要: A window assembly for modifying the appearance of a vehicle body. The window assembly comprises a glass fiber reinforced polyester panel adapted to bridge a body opening. The polyester panel has at least one opening smaller and of a different configuration than the body opening and is formed with a peripheral rabbet projecting into the smaller opening. An insert complementary in shape to the smaller opening is positioned in the latter adjacent the rabbeted periphery. The insert may take the form of a window pane, a louvered panel, a lamp housing lens, or other substantially planar article. The insert is held in place by an injection moldable elastomeric material that in cured condition integrally interlocks the periphery of the insert to the rabbet of the polyester panel.

The light source is positioned substantially on the optical axis so that the light source is substantially at the center of the spherical inner surface and the first focal point of the elliptical outer surface is substantially coincident with the center of the spherical inner surface.

    摘要: An illumination system for delivering light includes a light source, a reflector including a reflective surface adapted to reflect visible light from the light source and to allow heat energy to pass through the reflector, and a housing. The housing includes a base defining a first cavity and a heat dissipation portion extending from said base and defining a second cavity with an opening extending therebetween. The housing is adapted to support the light source and provides a thermal barrier between the housing and the light source. The heat dissipation portion is adapted to transfer heat energy from the reflector to a surrounding environment. A ballast is mounted to the housing to supply power to the light source and a cap is mounted to the heat dissipation portion and is adapted to interconnect the heat dissipation portion to an optical light distribution system.

    摘要: A central lighting system for providing light to locations remote from the light source includes first and second ellipsoidally shaped reflector members joined so as to substantially surround the light source. The reflector members collect the light output and focus it onto an input face of either a light guide or a non-imaging optical coupling member. If the optical coupling member is utilized, an angle to area conversion occurs so as to allow light introduced at high angles to an input face of the optical coupler to exit the optical coupler at a smaller angle. The reflector members can also be configured so that respective second optical focal points can reside at the apex of the opposing reflector member thereby allowing for a coupling efficiency of approximately 70% or greater.
