    摘要: A rear indicator device for an automobile arranged inwardly of and adjacent to a rear window. The device includes a light guide plate 2, a hologram 2 arranged in the light guide plate 2 and an irregular shaped prism having a first section having an apex angle .phi.1 at which the light beam from a light source 5 is subjected to a refraction so that the light beam is flattened. The flattened beam is again introduced into the prism at a second section which is in face to face contact with the light guide plate 2, so that the light beam is transmitted inside the light guide plate 2 toward the hologram 3, whereat the light beam is introduced into the hologram at a predetermined angle of incidence, so that a horizontal light beam of a predetermined wave length is obtained in a rear direction of the automobile to indicate the braking of the automobile.

A plurality of first reflectors reflect a first portion of the light from the first direction to an exit direction orthogonal to the plane of the light transmitting member and reflect a second portion of the light from the first direction to a second direction parallel to the plane of the light transmitting member and parallel to a second axis that is perpendicular to the first axis. A plurality of second light reflectors reflect the light from the second direction to the exit direction.

    摘要: A periscopic lens in a lamp assembly in which parallel light rays are twice reflected and pass through optical surfaces which control the light distribution pattern beyond the lamp assembly. The light rays enter the lens and emerge only from alternate lens facet surfaces, with the surfaces or facets alternating therebetween being so arranged as to present the same color as that of adjoining vehicle body panels to visually merge the lamp assembly with the coloration of the body panels and present a continuous appearance while the lamp assembly is not energized. At the same time it permits the lamp assembly to be seen as needed when it is energized. Optical surfaces are provided which establish a desired light distribution pattern which may be other than diffusion beyond a light ray focal point.

    摘要: An illumination device for vehicles, in particular rear light, with a light-emitting unit to generate a predetermined light function. The device comprises a plurality of light sources and an optical unit. The optical unit comprises a light guide with means for the deflection of the light coupled in the same, and a retroreflective unit to generate a retroreflective function. The light guide is designed as a low-profile light guide, which is arranged in the main radiation direction in front of the retroreflective unit. The means for deflecting the light are distributed on or in the low-profile light guide such that the first light beam emitted from the light source and coupled into a narrow side of the low-profile light guide is coupled out at a front flat side of the low-profile light guide to produce the predetermined light function. A second light beam coming from the outside passes the front flat side and a rear flat side of the low-profile light guide and is incident on the retroreflective unit and is reflected by it back through the rear flat side and the front flat side of the low-profile light guide in the main radiation direction to generate the retroreflective function.
