    摘要: An office machine is disclosed, which comprises a second (lower) unit and a first (upper) unit capable of being opened and closed with respect to the lower unit. A plurality of light-emitting elements and a plurality of light-receiving elements are provided in the lower unit, and a plurality of light-emitting elements and a plurality of light-receiving elements are provided in the upper unit. The control signal and data signal are fed to the light-emitting elements to be converted into optical on-off signal. The light-receiving elements receive the optical signal and convert it into electric signal which is fed to necessary parts. Control signal lines and data signal lines between the two units are thus replaced with an optical relay.

    摘要: A nonvolatile-memory controlling method is disclosed which continuously accesses a plurality of memory banks structured so as to have each memory bank accessible independently. The method comprises the steps of: in a busy cycle of one of the plurality of memory banks being accessed, issuing access information to a second memory bank for access thereto; bringing the second memory bank into a selected state while the access information is being issued to the second memory bank using a selection signal for controlling a selected state and an unselected state for any one of the plurality of memory banks; bringing the memory bank in the busy cycle into an unselected state while the access information is being issued; and accessing the plurality of memory banks continuously based on the access information issued to the second memory bank in the busy cycle of one of the memory banks being accessed and in keeping with the selection signal for controlling the second memory bank.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the invention reads an original by mechanically moving an axial light source in a subscanning direction perpendicular to the axis. The image forming apparatus includes: a sensor whose resolution in a main scanning direction parallel to the axis of the axial light source is higher than a designated resolution; a controller that controls the driving speed of the axial light source so that the resolution in the subscanning direction is higher than the designated resolution; an original-image-data generating unit that generates original image data with a resolution higher than the designated resolution in response to the output from the sensor; and an image reducing unit that generates reduced pixels fewer than a specified number of pixels in the original image data to generate a reduced image with a resolution equal to the designated resolution.

    摘要: An optical scanning unit receives beams from a plurality of beam light sources and directs the respective beams as a plurality of scanning beams with respect to the predetermined scanning range of the object to be scanned. A deflector receives one of the plurality of scanning beams by the optical scanning unit at a position near an end portion of the predetermined scanning range of the object to be scanned and deflects the received beam in a predetermined direction. A single beam detector detects the single scanning beam deflected in the predetermined direction by the deflector. A sync signal generating unit generates a sync signal on the basis of a detection output from the single beam detector. A control unit selectively generates control signals for driving the plurality of beam light sources in accordance with the sync signal from the sync signal generating unit, and while the single beam detector detects the single scanning beam, for driving only one of the plurality of beam light sources corresponding to the single scanning beam.
