    摘要： This invention relates to a stereoscopic image display apparatus, which comprises a two-dimensionally array of light modulation elements for modulating light in correspondence with a stripe synthesized image obtained by alternately arranging stripe image portions of a plurality of stripe images which are obtained by dividing right- and left-eye images, an illumination light source, arranged behind the light modulation elements, for illuminating the light modulation element, a parallax barrier arranged in front of the light modulation elements, and having predetermined aperture portions and light-shielding portions in correspondence with the light modulation elements corresponding to the respective stripe image portions, and an element, arranged between the light modulation elements and the illumination light source, for dividing and deflecting light emitted by the illumination light source.

    摘要： A stereoscopic image display apparatus comprising a light source for emitting light from plural apertures, an optical element array composed of an array of optical elements having different optical functions in the horizontal and vertical directions, for giving directivity to the light emerging from the apertures, and a transmissive display device for displaying a stripe image, obtained by dividing each of a parallax image for the right eye and a parallax image for the left eye in the vertical direction to obtain right stripe pixels and left stripe pixels and arranging the right and left stripe pixels alternately in a predetermined order, wherein the plural apertures are provided corresponding to each of the optical elements constituting the optical element array, for each stripe pixel, and are adapted to cause the light, passing through the right or left stripe pixel, to reach a predetermined area.

    摘要： This invention relates to an image display apparatus having first image generating means for displaying first image information by a plurality of pixels emitting light, second image generating means for displaying second image information by a plurality of pixels emitting light, the second image information being part of the first image information, visual axis detecting means for detecting an observer's visual axis direction, optical means for combining a first image from the first image generating means and a second image from the second image generating means, moving the second image relative to the first image in conformity with an output signal from the visual axis detecting means and turning it to the observer's pupil, the marginal portion of the second image being made substantially coincident with the boundary between the pixels of the first image when the images are combined, and image display changing means for changing the first image information and the second image information on the basis of the output signal of the visual axis detecting means.
