摘要: The present invention relates to a sublimation ink ribbon capable of printing on a printing paper a still picture image of various kinds of picture images such as a picture image shot by a video camera, a television picture image and the like. At least the surface of its sublimation ink layer is made of a layer containing a sublimation dye whose solubility relative to methyl ethyl ketone is not higher than 2.5g/100 ml or a layer in which a sublimation dye having a solubility higher than 2.5g/100 ml is mixed such that a ratio (P/B) of a weight P of the sublimation dye relative to a weight B of a binder is not higher than 0.5. Thus, it is possible to reduce the under layer soil characteristics.

摘要: The present invention relates to a cover film for hard copy printing paper which can easily form a colorless and transparent protecting layer on the surface of, for example, a printing paper on which a color picture image is printed. The cover film for hard copy printing paper is such one that the cover film for hard copy printing paper is formed on the surface of a hard copy printing paper on which the printing is carried out by the sublimation transfer method and the cover film is designed to include at least one layer the glass transition temperature of which is selected to be higher than 40.degree. C. and whose water absorbing ratio (ASTM D570) is selected to be lower than 2%, whereby even under high temperature and high humidity, the bad influence exerted by the movement of a dye can be removed.

摘要: A cover film for a sublimation transfer type hard copy of the present invention is a cover film which is melt bonded by heat on the surface of a hard copy printing paper in which a picture image is formed on the surface thereof by selectively transferring a sublimation dye. The cover film includes a resinous layer containing a metal compound selected from Al, Mg, Ca and Sn. This cover film is capable of producing magenta color of high color saturation by arbitrarily controlling the coloring of reddish dye to be shifted to the blue side and can also protect the surface of the printing paper.Furthermore, the present invention relates to a cover film which is melt bonded by heat on the surface of a hard copy printing paper in which a picture image is formed on the surface thereof by selectively transferring a sublimation dye. This cover film includes a layer mainly formed of a phosphor whitener and a resin to increase a whiteness degree of a portion which is not colored so that a picture image is made clear and which can prevent the color of dye from being faded.

摘要: A thermal transfer ink sheet composed of a substrate, a thermal transfer ink layer formed on one side of the substrate, and a back coat layer formed on the other side of the substrate, characterized in that the back coat layer has a kinetic friction coefficient smaller than 0.25 (with respect to the thermal head) which varies depending on whether printing is going on or not, such that it has a value of .mu..sub.1 when printing is going on and a value of .mu..sub.2 when printing is not going on, with the ratio of .mu..sub.1 /.mu..sub.2 being from 0.8 to 1.2. The kinetic friction coefficient in the specified range can be obtained by employing a slip agent which does not greatly change the kinetic friction coefficient of the back coat layer depending on whether printing is going on or not, or by employing two slip agents in combination, one giving the back coat layer a kinetic friction coefficient which is higher when printing is going on than when printing is not going on, the other giving the back coat layer a kinetic friction coefficient which is lower when printing is going on than when printing is not going on. The thermal transfer ink sheet runs smoothly without imposing unnecessary loads to the thermal head and hence gives rise to a high-quality print image free of printing pitch fluctuation.

摘要: The present invention relates to an adhesive composition utilized to adhere an ink layer to a first substrate of a recording medium used for heat-sensitive transfer printing. The adhesive composition comprises polyamide and organo boron polymer. The organo boron polymer is a polyester which includes acidic chelate complex residue by reaction of polyol and boric acid. The adhesive composition provides a sufficient adhesive force between the ink layer and the first substrate of the recording medium such that the ink layer does not peel off from the first substrate and stick to a dye acceptor layer of a second substrate during the heat-sensitive transfer printing process.

摘要: A sheet of the type which comprises a release base sheet and a thermal transfer image-receiving layer formed on the release base sheet and which is capable of releasing the thermal transfer image-receiving layer from the base sheet is described. The receiving layer is made of a dispersion, in a resin binder, of a layer compound capable of fixing cationic dyes through ion exchange reaction therewith. The receiving layer can be readily formed on a desired type of substrate by superposing the receiving layer on the substrate, after which the release base sheet is peeled off from the receiving layer. A thermal transfer image can be formed on the receiving layer by superposition with an ink ribbon containing a cationic dye and application of image information to the ink ribbon or by re-transfer of a cationic dye image from a printing paper. The thermal transfer image may be formed prior to the transfer of the receiving layer on the substrate. Owing to the fixing of the cationic dye through ion exchange reaction, the fixing properties of the dye in the receiving layer can be significantly improved.

摘要: Color images with high fixation comparable to that of silver salt photographic images are formed on printing papers, using aqueous ink compositions by ink jet recording. Color images thus formed have high saturation and high resolution. An intercalated compound capable of fixing water-soluble dyes to a printing paper due to the intercalation based on ion-exchanging between them is incorporated into the dye-receiving layer 2 of the paper, on which color images are formed by ink jet recording using an aqueous ink composition containing a water-soluble dye. The content of the intercalated compound in the layer 2 is from 10 to 90% by weight. As the intercalated compound, montmorillonoids are preferred when water-soluble cationic dyes are used while hydrotalcite-group minerals are preferred when water-soluble anionic dyes are used. FIG. 1 is selected.
