    摘要: The present invention enables reliable shift to a fail-safe processing upon detection of failure by RAM diagnosis. To this end, the diagnosis result of the RAM diagnosis is doubly stored, as flags, into mutually different two addresses of the RAM; and a fail-safe processing is conducted based on the doubly stored diagnosis result flags when at least one of the flags indicates existence of failure. Otherwise, the diagnosis result of the RAM diagnosis is stored, as a flag, into a predetermined register; and a fail-safe processing is conduced based on the diagnosis result flag stored in the register such that the fail-safe processing is conducted when the flag indicates existence of failure.

    摘要: The apparatus comprises two accelerator position sensors and two throttle position sensors, and when one out of said two accelerator position sensors or said two throttle position sensors fails to operate, a limitation is added to the increase in accelerator position for the output characteristics of the accelerator position sensor. Thereby, the vehicle is enabled to travel at a minimum speed necessary without excessively increasing the engine output. When one of the two throttle position sensors fails to operate, the fuel injection quantity may be set based on the detection value of the accelerator position, which enables the vehicle to be driven by approximately the desired speed without excessively increasing the engine output.

    摘要: In a method and apparatus for fail-safe controlling an electronically-controlled throttle-type internal combustion engine, provision is made of two accelerator position sensors and two throttle position sensors. When either one of the two accelerator position sensors or either one of the two throttle position sensors fails to operate, a low-speed fail-safe operation of a minimum compensation, that is, an operation for maintaining a minimum output required for limp-home control operation of the engine, is executed and, then, a first fail-safe control operation is executed for controlling the position of the throttle valve using a value detected by the remaining sensor. Therefore, the throttle valve is not unintentionally opened, and the operation can be smoothly shifted to the first fail-safe control operation. When the operation for decelerating the engine is detected by a sensor of a system separate from the above-mentioned sensors, the first fail-safe control operation is interrupted and, instead, a second fail-safe control operation is executed for holding the throttle valve at a predetermined position in order to assure the low-speed fail-safe operation of the minimum compensation.

The sensor-failure detection and fail-safe system comprises a duplex failsafe system for the throttle-position sensor system and a duplex failsafe system for the accelerator-position sensor system, to provide superior fail-safe functions despite the presence of a throttle-position sensor failure and/or an accelerator-position sensor failure.

    摘要: The present invention securely prevents the erroneous switching of the combustion mode to the stratified charge combustion, and avoids deterioration of the driving performance. In order to do so, apart from a software determination device inside a main CPU for performing the permission determination on the switching to the stratified charge combustion based on an input signal related to the engine drive condition, a hardware detection circuit (gate array) is equipped for performing the permission determination on the switching to the stratified charge combustion mode based on the input signal related to the engine drive condition. The main CPU is equipped with a combustion mode order device for finally ordering the stratified charge combustion by permitting the switching to the stratified charge combustion only when the two permission determinations both permit the switching to the stratified charge combustion. Further, a sub CPU is mounted which is equipped with a fail-safe device for based on the final permission determination from the main CPU and the permission determination from the hardware determination device, performing a fail-safe process when the two determinations are inconsistent.

    摘要: An automobile control device includes a function that can control drive torque of a starting device to an arbitrary value, and a positive rotation detecting unit having at least one of a function to detect whether an engine rotates positively and a function to detect whether the engine does not rotate reversely. The control device also has an idle stop function to increase the drive torque of the starting device when the positive rotation detecting unit detects that the engine rotates positively or does not rotate reversely. Accordingly, problems of malfunctions such as a reduction in a system voltage, abnormal wear of a brush in a starter motor, and breakage of a semiconductor switch are solved that are found in a conventional automobile control device having the idle stop function and that are caused by flowing of overcurrent when a starter is driven during swing-over that occurs immediately before engine stop.

    摘要: An electronic throttle control system and method are provided. The system includes a throttle valve, a motor configured to drive the throttle valve, and a throttle position sensor configured to detect an angle of the throttle valve. The system further includes an engine rotating speed detector, and a controller. The controller is configured to drive the motor to control the angle of the throttle valve. The controller is configured to initially set a lower limit value of the angle to an angle which is greater than a full closure angle of the throttle valve by a predetermined amount. The controller is further configured to, when a rise in an engine rotating speed is detected, re-set the lower limit value to reduce it by a predetermined amount to control the engine rotating speed to within a predetermined value from the preset idle speed.
