摘要: A laminate film comprising a polyolefin resin layer having a discharge-treated surface on one side of the polyolefin resin layer comprising at least 0.3% nitrogen functional groups on the discharge-treated surface; and a metal layer having an optical density of at least about 2.6 deposited on the discharge-treated surface of the polyolefin resin layer has a barrier durability under 9% elongation of 46.5 cc/m2/day or less oxygen transmission rate through the laminate film.

摘要: A releasable transfer film is suitable to provide a metalized embossed composite onto a paper substrate without a release layer between the composite and a polymeric carrier layer. The transfer film includes a polymeric base layer, an embossing material layer and a metal layer. The transfer film is bonded to the paper substrate with an adhesive layer allowing the polymeric barrier layer to peel away from and to expose the metal-backed, embossing material layer. The substrate covered with the metalized embossed composite can be used to impart holographic style images to packaging, printed media products such as magazines.

摘要: This invention relates to a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film comprising a polyolefin-containing base layer with at least 1 weight percent recycled polyolefin material comprises polyhydroxy amino ether polymer (PHAE) and an amount of compatibilizing agent such that the laminate film has a gel count of less than 15 gels/80 in2. The laminate film could have an optional tie-layer which could comprise PHAE adhered to one side; the polypropylene film contains an amount of reprocessed PHAE-containing film and a compatibilizing agent to reduce significantly or eliminate visual defects such as gels, voids, etc. The use of the compatibilizing agent with the reprocessed PHAE also aids in improving subsequent biaxial film orientation and maintains film properties. The film of the embodiments of the invention has excellent appearance and aesthetic properties and can be suitable for transparent, white opaque, or metallized film applications depending on formulation.

摘要: A monoaxially oriented film including a metallized layer; a gas barrier layer; and a propylene-based random copolymer and at least about 3 wt % of a low density polyethylene which is oriented at least about 2.5 times in one direction and exhibits excellent linear directional tear properties parallel to the orientation direction and excellent heat seal performance in terms of high heat seal strengths and low seal initiation temperature. This film formulation and orientation is suitable for pouch applications requiring high gas and moisture barrier, an “easy-tear” linear tear feature, and excellent hermetic seal properties.
