    摘要: A backlight unit has a light source area. The width of the light source area in a first direction is shorter than the width of a liquid crystal panel in the first direction. A plurality of LED modules (31) are arranged along the second direction perpendicular to the first direction. End lenses (41A, 41B) and a middle lens (42) for enlarging a light divergence angle are disposed on the plurality of LED modules (31). The direction in which the end lens (41A, 41B) enlarges the light divergence angle differs from that in which the middle lens (42) enlarges the divergence angle. This structure can reduce difference in brightness of the liquid crystal panel, while reducing the number of light sources.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal disposed between the first substrate having first signal lines and second signal lines defining pixel regions and the second substrate. The pixel regions include a first transparent electrode, and a second transparent electrode which is overlapped with the first electrode through an insulating layer. The second transparent electrode is elongated so as to extend to plural pixel regions in overlapping relation with the first signal line which extends in plural pixel regions, and at least one strip-shaped opening portion is delimited between adjacent second transparent electrodes arranged in an extension direction of the first signal line, the at least one strip-shaped opening portion being formed in overlapping relation with the second signal line. A metal line is connected to the second transparent electrode, the metal line being elongated to extend to plural pixel regions.

    摘要: The present invention provides a display method realizing reduction in a moving picture blurring by forming one frame by two fields of different luminance, in which increase in an unapplied voltage due to shortening of data voltage write time is suppressed. A gate voltage is applied in a light field for a period of time which is twice as long as scan line selection time, thereby decreasing an unapplied voltage. On the other hand, a gate voltage is applied normally in a dark field for the scan line selection time, so that the case where the unapplied voltage increases is eliminated. As a result, an image with high reproducibility can be obtained.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal disposed between the first substrate having drain lines and gate signal lines defining pixel regions and the second substrate. The pixel regions include a pixel electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer and having a plurality of slits, a common electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer, the common electrode being overlapped with the pixel electrode through an insulating layer, and the liquid crystal being driven by an electric field generated by the pixel electrode and the common electrode. A conductor layer is arranged proximate to the drain signal line. The conductor layer is placed at a position where at least a part thereof overlaps the common electrode, and the conductor layer is not connected to the drain signal line and the pixel electrode electrically.

Support columns which project toward the TFT substrate are formed on the counter substrate. A plurality of gate signal lines, a plurality of drain signal lines, thin film transistors, an insulation film which covers the thin film transistors, organic films which are arranged on the insulation film, and a transparent electrode which constitutes a common electrode arranged on an upper layer of the organic films, are formed on the TFT substrate. A metal film which constitutes a common electrode auxiliary line is arranged on an upper layer of the transparent electrode. The insulation film, the organic films, the transparent electrode, and the metal film are laminated in this order on the gate signal lines, and portions of the metal film arranged on the transparent electrode form pedestals corresponding to the support columns.
