    摘要: In a liquid crystal display device of a lateral electric field driving system, coloring problem in display is prevented in all the white, intermediate tone and the black display mode. In this liquid crystal display device: one of an incident side polarizing plate and an exit side polarizing plate has its polarizing axis substantially coincide with the direction of the orientation of a liquid crystal layer; an optical compensating layer is interposed between at least one of transparent substrates and the incident side polarizing plate or the exit side polarizing plate both disposed outside the at least one of the transparent substrates, the optical compensating layer having a refractive index anisotropy with the other polarity other than that in the refractive index of the liquid crystal layer; and, the optical compensating layer has the direction of its anisotropy axis substantially coincide with the direction of the orientation of the liquid crystal layer, provided that the orientation direction includes a predetermined pre-tilt angle.

    摘要: A LCD device that receives curing light sufficiently to thereby realize approximately uniform curing of the material of the sealing member without eliminating the conductive light-blocking members. A first substrate has a display area and a peripheral area located to surround the display area. The display area includes pixels arranged regularly. The peripheral area includes a sealing member, wiring lines connected to the pixels, and conductive light-blocking members. A second substrate is coupled with the first substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates. The sealing member is formed to overlap with the wiring lines and the light-blocking members in such a way that a non-overlapping area of the sealing member with the wiring lines and the light-blocking members is equal to 25% per unit area of the sealing ember or greater.

    摘要: A lightweight metal spoiler is integrated with a tailgate of an automotive vehicle. The integrated tailgate spoiler is formed from the same material as the frame or rear portion of the tailgate body, preferably aluminum, in one arrangement and from different materials in another arrangement. First and second spoiler portions are joined together along overlapping, mating, abutting edges. The first and second portions of the tailgate are brazed together at an acute angle and the unitary spoiler is fused to the rear portion of the tailgate body.

    摘要: [Problem] To provide a light-emitting device which does not undergo the deterioration in luminous efficiency associated with the long-term use.[Solution] A light-emitting device (1) comprises a light-emitting element (10) which can emit blue light and a phosphor (2) which is composed of a single kind of single crystal and can emit yellow light upon the irradiation with the light emitted from the light-emitting element (10) which serves as excitation light. Thus, it becomes possible to prevent the deterioration in luminous efficiency associated with the deterioration in a binder or the like compared with a light-emitting device which utilizes multiple kinds of granular phosphors, because any binder for binding phosphors to each other is not required in the light-emitting device (1).
