    摘要: Data decoding decodes data reproduced from a record medium and stored in a memory. Since decoding requires a sufficient amount of data to be stored in memory especially when the data is, for example, predictively encoded, a system controller is provided which inhibits previously read data from being overwritten in memory. Thus, when a reverse reproduction operation is suddenly initiated during a forward reproduction operation, a sufficient amount of data is reserved in the memory for decoding the data in the reverse direction. Similarly, the system controller inhibits the memory from writing over previously read data during a reverse reproduction and a sufficient amount of data is reserved for decoding when forward reproduction is resumed.

A detection circuit detects a first synchronizing signal in the input video signal input.     摘要: A recording/reproducing device has an NTSC decoder which receives a video signal and outputs a video signal, an MPEG audio encoder which receives an audio signal and outputs an audio signal, and a synchronous control circuit which detects a synchronizing signal from the video signal input to the NTSC decoder and uses that signal to generate an output synchronizing signal that is different from the input synchronizing signal. The output synchronizing signal is used to output the video signal from the NTSC decoder. In the recording/reproducing device, the NTSC decoder and the MPEG audio encoder provide a delay to the input video signal and audio signal, respectively, and output the video signal and audio signal in accordance with the output synchronizing signal generated by the synchronous control circuit.

    摘要: Decoding data in a special mode is provided without frequent access to a disk. The reproduced data, corresponding to encoded video frames, is written to a storage memory during a normal mode. Attribute information is stored for each encoded video frame which includes the type of encoding for each encoded video frame and its position within the storage memory. In a special mode, encoded video frames are read from the storage memory in a special sequence. Encoded video frames needed to decode a respective encoded video frame are selectively read from the storage memory according to the attribute information. It becomes unnecessary in the present invention, therefore, to reproduce the data necessary for decoding during a special mode, thereby shortening access to the disk and smoothing reproduction of the encoded video frames during the special mode.
