The apparatus includes supporting means for supporting a ceramic test piece shaped as a rectangular parallelepiped at a first side surface thereof, force-detecting means for restraining a predetermined location of a second side surface of the ceramic test piece, the second side surface facing the first side surface, the force-detecting means and the supporting means restraining any deformation of the ceramic test piece when the second side surface of the ceramic test piece is heated, the force-detecting means being adapted to detect a force acting on the force-detecting means from the ceramic test piece, which tends to be deformed, but which deformation is restrained, means for moving the supporting means to press the ceramic test piece against the force-detecting means, and a heat-emissive element, which is an electric heater, for covering and heating the second side surface to cause a thermal shock in the ceramic test piece.

    摘要: A static-pressure bearing apparatus that prevents vibrations, the apparatus including an orifice and a vent groove, such that a laminar-flow status may be maintained in the entire region of the routes of the ventilated pressurized gas. A stage equipped with the static-pressure bearing apparatus is also provided. The configurations, such as the shapes of the orifice 14, vent groove 11, and the exhaust groove 12, of the static-pressure bearing apparatus 1, are designed such that a laminar flow may be maintained in the entire region of the routes for ventilation of the pressurized gas. The vent groove 11 comprises the circular groove 11b and a plurality of distributing grooves 11a. The vent groove 11 is formed to be symmetrical about the centerline of the direction that the moving body 10 moves. The circular groove 11b is formed as a circle to surround the orifice 14. The plurality of distributing grooves 11a extend radially from the orifice 14 to the circular groove 11b such that the plurality of distributing grooves 11a connect the circular groove 11b and the orifice 14.

    摘要: A press apparatus for use in manufacture of a liquid crystal panel presses upper and lower glass substrates placed between a pressure-exerting plate and a pressure-receiving plate while a seal located around the glass substrates is being heated and melted. The pressure-exerting plate is supported by a pressure-transmitting plate through three load cells. The pressure-transmitting plate presses the pressure-exerting plate against the pressure-receiving plate through the load cells and thereby presses the glass substrates uniformly. When a difference between the detection values of the load cells exceeds a predetermined value, it is determined that the glass substrates are not being pressed uniformly and the pressing operations thus stopped.
