Abstract: A battery module includes a plurality of can-type secondary batteries; a cooling tray formed in a container shape and having an accommodation space capable of accommodating the plurality of can-type secondary batteries; a heatsink having a hollow structure in which a coolant flows, the heatsink being disposed in contact with an outer surface of the cooling tray; and a thermally conductive adhesive solution filled in the accommodation space of the cooling tray, wherein the plurality of can-type secondary batteries are arranged such that a lower portion thereof is immersed in the thermally conductive adhesive solution.

Abstract: A bus bar capable of effectively securing safety of a battery module when an overcurrent is generated includes: a main body portion that includes a first metal, has a stepped structure, in which an outer surface of the main body portion in an outward direction of the battery module is recessed in an inward direction, formed in one region, and is configured to be electrically connected to at least one secondary battery; a current breaking portion that is inserted into a space formed by the stepped structure and includes a second metal having a melting point relatively lower than a melting point of the first metal; and a covering member configured to surround at least a part of an outer surface of the current breaking portion. A battery module including the bus bar is also provided.

Abstract: A battery module includes a pair of battery cells, each battery cell having an electrode lead, and the battery cells being stacked to face each other; a connector configured to connect the electrode leads of battery cells; and a connector breaking device disposed in a space formed between terrace portions of the battery cells and configured to be operated with a pressure applied to the connector breaking device due to swelling of at least one of the battery cells to cut off an electric connection between the connector and the electrode leads is provided.
