Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a video surveillance method comprising steps of a video camera periodically capturing an image of a zone to be monitored, analyzing the image to detect a presence therein, and of the video camera transmitting the image only if a presence has been detected in the image.
Abstract:
A method for capturing a sequence of video images, using an imager including an estimation of the parameters of a model of global motion between successive images. The method may include measurement of local motions on edges of the images, with the estimation of the parameters of the global motion model performed using the result of the measurement of local motions on the edges of the images.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method for locating the iris in an image of an eye, comprising steps of locating the pupil in the image, of detecting positions of intensity steps of pixels located on a line passing through the pupil and transition zones between the iris and the cornea, on either side of the pupil, and of determining the center and the radius of a circle passing through the detected positions of the transitions.
Abstract:
A method for following hand movements in an image flow, includes receiving an image flow in real time, locating in each image in the received image flow a hand contour delimiting an image zone of the hand, extracting the postural characteristics from the image zone of the hand located in each image, and determining the hand movements in the image flow from the postural characteristics extracted from each image. The extraction of the postural characteristics of the hand in each image includes locating in the image zone of the hand the center of the palm of the hand by searching for a pixel of the image zone of the hand the furthest from the hand contour.

Abstract:
A method for selecting images from a set of images (according to sharpness and contrast criteria), comprising pre-selecting images by a simplified sharpness and/or contrast analysis of each image in the set of images, and of selecting images by a finer analysis of the sharpness and/or contrast of each pre-selected image. This method is particularly useful to perform an identification by recognition of the iris.
Abstract:
A method of digital processing of an image of the iris of an eye or the like, including at least a first filtering step corresponding to a morphological closing by a first structuring element corresponding to a disk having a radius in number of pixels approximately corresponding to the thickness of an eyelash in the image, and a second filtering step corresponding to a morphological opening of the image resulting from the previous step by a second structuring element corresponding to a disk having a radius in number of pixels ranging between two and five times that of the disk of the first step.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine includes a combustion chamber, a crankshaft and inlet and outlet valves. The engine is operated with a method wherein a fresh air charge (rl) of the combustion chamber and the engine rpm (nmot) are considered when computing a pressure (ps) in a region lying upstream of the inlet valve. The computation is done by utilizing at least one of thermodynamic equations and flow equations at at least one discrete time point during a work cycle of the engine. Or, a pressure (ps) in the above region and the rpm (nmot) of the crankshaft are considered when computing the fresh air charge (rl) of the combustion chamber by utilizing one of thermodynamic equations and flow equations at at least one discrete time point during a work cycle of the engine.
