摘要： Assembled viral particles derived from rotavirus proteins are disclosed. The assembled particles include the inner capsid protein, VP6, in combination with either or both of the outer capsid proteins, VP4 and VP7. These assemblies can be used in vaccine compositions for the treatment and prevention of rotaviral disease.

摘要： The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a β (1-3) β (1-4) glucan and a pharmaceutically active agent or a botanical extract. A method to extract and purify cereal β-glucan is also described. The high purity of the cereal β-glucan obtained according to the present invention allows for the preparation of clear, colourless viscous liquid preparations. These liquid preparations are stable to gelling effects when kept at ambient temperatures and low ash concentrations, and can be used to prepare the pharmaceutical compositions of the present invention.

摘要： Adjuvant formulations are provided containing quaternary ammonium salts in conjunction with an oil component which may be a mineral oil, an animal oil, a vegetable oil, a mixture thereof, or an oil-in-water emulsion of one or more of such oils. These formulations are useful in conjunction with known immunological substances, e.g., viral or bacterial antigens in a vaccine composition, in order to enhance the immunogenic response. The compositions are also useful without an incorporated antigen as nonspecific immunostimulatory formulations.

摘要： Cereal β(1-3) β(1-4) glucan is used as a film or coating agent to produce clear, edible, biodegradable, delivery, lubricating, and protecting agents. Cereal β(1-3) β(1-4) glucans are distinctive polymers of glucose differentiated from other polymers by not only their source but also their physicochemical properties. The β(1-3) β(1-4) forms a matrix to sequester other materials, such as pharmaceutical, medical and therapeutic agents, flavors, fragrances. The technology has applications to essential oils and non-aqueous materials that are rendered deliverable by the β(1-3) β(1-4) glucan. The β(1-3) β(1-4) glucan films described may be consumed whereby they dissolve in the mouth in a controlled manner and may be used for the delivery of pharmaceutical, medical or confectionery products.
