摘要: A catheter head for medical and pharmaceutical applications, including a base body which may be positioned on organic tissue and a connecting body, serving as fluid connector for the base body, which has a fluid channel to form the fluid connection. The base body and the connecting body are detachably connected to each other and the base body includes: a) a housing b) a cannula, extending from the housing for introduction into the tissue, c) a seal element, retained by the housing, which has a connector face on which or by means of which the fluid channel of the connecting body may be hydraulically connected to the cannula, and d) a closing element, mounted on the housing which may be displaced relative to the sealing element and seals the sealing face of the sealing element in a closed position and opens the connecting body for the fluid channel in an open position.

摘要: An infusion pump device and method for filling a fluidic system of the infusion pump with liquid medicament prior to infusion operation is presented. A control unit causes the infusion pump to: (a) bring a pump to an initial state; (b) switch a valve to a first state connecting a secondary reservoir to a first conduit and a primary reservoir; (c) retrieve medicament from the primary reservoir; (d) switch the valve to a second state connecting the secondary reservoir to a second downstream conduit; (e) expel the secondary reservoir contents into the second downstream conduit; (f) switch the valve to the first state; (g) retrieve the primary reservoir medicament; (h) switch the valve to the second state; and (i) expel the secondary reservoir contents into the second downstream conduit by shifting a piston to the initial position.

摘要: An infusion pump device comprising a primary liquid medicament reservoir, a pump with a secondary reservoir to retrieve medicament from the primary reservoir and to subsequently dose the medicament from the secondary reservoir in adjustable volumes (Vdose,i) to a downstream conduit and a control unit to control the operation of the infusion pump device is presented. For metering the volumes (Vdose,i), the control unit causes the infusion pump device to: (a) determine a maximum refill level (VC,max) for the secondary reservoir, based on external parameters, wherein the maximum refill level does not exceed the maximum capacity of the secondary reservoir; (b) fill the secondary reservoir with medicament from the primary reservoir to the maximum refill level (VC,max); (c) meter and convey the medicament volumes to the downstream conduit; (d) if the secondary reservoir becomes empty, refill the secondary reservoir as in step (b) and continue with step (c).

摘要: A dosing unit for an ambulatory infusion pump device is presented. The dosing unit comprises a cylinder pump with a cylinder and a piston arranged in the cylinder. The piston has a shaft with a first threaded segment interacting with a threaded portion of the cylinder and can be displaced along a longitudinal axis of the cylinder by rotating the piston in regard to the cylinder around the axis. Furthermore, the piston allows for the relative or absolute determination of the longitudinal and/or rotational displacement of the piston in regard to the cylinder. In one embodiment, the piston shaft comprises a second segment provided with optically detectable markings that allow the monitoring of the longitudinal and/or rotational displacement of the piston in regard to the cylinder.

摘要: A compact and one time use, self-administration device (10) for administering medication is disclosed. The device includes a housing (12) having a start button (26), a status indicator (28), a window (30), and a surface removably attachable to a user. The device (10) has a cartridge holder (34) providing in an aseptic environment a cartridge (32) containing the medication. The cartridge (32) is viewable through the cartridge holder (34) and the window (30). An included drive unit (42) provides a movable plunger (126) that breaks through a sterile barrier (130) of the cartridge holder (34) to dispense the medication from the cartridge (32) to an hollow needle (38) for administering the medication into the user. The device (10) provides means (36, 44) for extending and retracting the hollow needle (38) and an electronic control unit (40) which controls the drive unit (42), the extending and retracting means (36, 44), and interfaces with the start button (26), the status indicator (28), and the body sensor (24) to automatically administer the medication.
