摘要:
A compact and one time use, self-administration device (10) for administering medication is disclosed. The device includes a housing (12) having a start button (26), a status indicator (28), a window (30), and a surface removably attachable to a user. The device (10) has a cartridge holder (34) providing in an aseptic environment a cartridge (32) containing the medication. The cartridge (32) is viewable through the cartridge holder (34) and the window (30). An included drive unit (42) provides a movable plunger (126) that breaks through a sterile barrier (130) of the cartridge holder (34) to dispense the medication from the cartridge (32) to an hollow needle (38) for administering the medication into the user. The device (10) provides means (36, 44) for extending and retracting the hollow needle (38) and an electronic control unit (40) which controls the drive unit (42), the extending and retracting means (36, 44), and interfaces with the start button (26), the status indicator (28), and the body sensor (24) to automatically administer the medication.

摘要:
Devices and methods are disclosed which automatically reconstitute a drug, such as e.g., a lyophilized drug. A vial (30) containing the drug is fluidly coupled to a cartridge (12) containing a reconstitution liquid with a fluid conduit (14f), wherein an entry point is defined where the fluid conduit enters the vial (30). The device (10) automatically adjusts orientation of the vial (30) such that the entry point of the vial is gravitationally higher than the drug in the vial (30), and automatically transfers the reconstitution liquid out of the cartridge (12) and into the vial (30) to create a reconstituted drug. The device (10) also automatically adjusts the orientation of the vial (30) such that the entry point of the vial is gravitationally lower than the reconstituted drug, and automatically transfers the reconstituted drug from the vial (30) and into the cartridge (12).
摘要:
An injection device for injecting a fluid into an organism, in particular a human or animal body, which can comprise a fluid providing section including a container for storing the fluid and a supply means for supplying the fluid. The fluid injecting section for injecting the fluid provided by the fluid providing section into the organism includes a catheter means and is characterized by the fluid injecting section being provided with a pressure recognition arrangement which can be located close to and/or in the catheter means for detecting a pressure increase and/or a pressure loss.

A method of proof testing glass containers is disclosed. The method involves applying pressure to a sealed container in two discrete stages as shown in FIG. 1. In the first stage, the pressure is increased to a peak over at a first rate. In the second stage, the pressure is reduced to zero at a much greater rate.

A device for automatically delivering a drug to a user and method thereof are disclosed. The device (10, 20, 70, 110) provides a connector to which a vial (12, 50, 60, 100, 130, 202) containing the drug is removably connected and situated thereto in a substantially inverted position. When commanded by the user, the device (10, 20, 70, 110) starts a reconstitution process to automatically create a reconstituted drug, and provides an indication that the reconstitution process is complete such that the vial (12, 50, 60, 100, 130, 202) may be removed from the connector (22, 72,112). After disposing the device (10, 20, 70, 110) on the user, the device (10, 20, 70, 110) can automatically deliver the reconstituted drug to the user when further commanded by the user.
