    摘要: An auxiliary capacitor line driving circuit (5), provided in a surrounding region located around a display region (R1) in a liquid crystal display panel, generates auxiliary capacitor driving signals, and includes: first and second voltage trunk lines (VCS1, VCS2) which carry two different voltages, respectively; at least one control signal line (VCTRL1, VCTRL2) carrying one control signal; and a plurality of TFTs (T1, T2, T3, T4) each alternately supplying, to the respective auxiliary capacitor lines (CSn, CSn+1, and the like) in a given cycle, the two different voltages supplied to the auxiliary capacitor line driving circuit (5). Therefore, a liquid crystal display device employing multi-picture element drive method can be provided as a liquid crystal display device that achieves narrowing of a picture frame region as a non-display region and an external circuit board.

    摘要: In the liquid crystal display device (100) of this invention, pixels include m kinds of (where m is an even number and m≧4) pixels (R, G, B and Y) that display different colors. The pixels are arranged so that n of the m kinds of pixels (where n is an even number, n≦m and n is a divisor of m) are repeatedly arranged in the same order in the row direction. Each row of pixels formed by those pixels includes groups of pixels, to each of which n pixels arranged consecutively in the row direction belong. Grayscale voltages of opposite polarities are applied through associated signal lines (13) to the pixel electrodes (11) of two arbitrary adjacent pixels in each group of pixels. In two arbitrary groups of pixels that are adjacent in the row direction, grayscale voltages of opposite polarities are applied through their associated signal lines to the pixel electrodes of pixels that display the same color. The signal lines include at least one pair of adjacent signal lines (13p) to supply grayscale voltages of the same polarity. The source-drain capacitance of the pixels located between the pair of signal lines is smaller than that of the other pixels. The present invention can improve the display quality of a liquid crystal display device, of which each picture element is defined by an even number of pixels.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes: a plurality of pixels that are arranged in rows and columns so as to form a matrix pattern; and TFTs (TFT-A, TFT-B and TFT-C), source bus lines, gate bus lines and CS bus lines (CS-A and CS-B), which are associated with the respective pixels. Each pixel includes at least three subpixels (SP-A, SP-B and SP-C) with liquid crystal capacitors that are able to retain mutually different voltages. By supplying a signal (CS-A or CS-B) that makes two of the at least three subpixels display mutually different luminances at least at a certain grayscale tone from the source, gate and CS bus lines to each pixel, the at least three subpixels are able to display mutually different luminances.

The liquid crystal display device includes an active matrix substrate (10) including a plurality of scanning lines (12) extending in a row direction and a plurality of signal lines (13) extending in a column direction; and a signal line driving circuit (3) that supplies, as a display signal, a gray scale voltage of a positive or negative polarity to each of the plurality of signal lines. The plurality of signal lines include a first type of signal line (13a) which does not intersect another signal line, and a second type of signal line (13b) which intersects a signal line adjacent thereto outside a display area in the state where an insulating film (16) is interposed therebetween. The active matrix substrate further includes a correction line (40) which is provided in the vicinity of an intersection region (IR) where the second type of signal line intersects the adjacent signal line, is electrically separated from the plurality of signal lines, and is at a floating potential.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display panel which facilitates laser repair for repairing defects even if an electrode facing a pixel electrode with an insulating film therebetween is a transparent electrode. The liquid crystal display panel of the present invention includes a first substrate having an insulating substrate, a thin film transistor, a scan signal line, a first light-shielding electrode, a first insulating film, a second light-shielding electrode, a second insulating film, a transparent electrode, a third insulating film, and a pixel electrode; a second substrate having an insulating substrate; and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second light-shielding electrode is located between the thin film transistor and the pixel electrode and connected to the pixel electrode through a connecting portion formed through the second insulating film and the third insulating film. The first light-shielding electrode at least partly overlaps with the second light-shielding electrode through the first insulating film. The transparent electrode is in a layer closer to the liquid crystal layer than both a layer including the scan signal line and a layer including the second light-shielding electrode are.
