摘要: A method and system for providing a user with insurance premium estimates from insurance providers for an insurance product. Insurance providers for the insurance product are selected by the user. Conditions input indicating conditions effecting the insurance premiums are transmitted from the user's computer to a service computer. The service computer converts the conditions input into a standard format suitable to a common interface and sends the converted conditions input to the user's computer. The converted conditions input is sent from the user's computer to the selected insurance providers without passing through or interacting with the service computer while being sent from the user's computer to the selected insurance providers. The insurance premium estimates from the selected insurance providers are received by the user's computer and displayed on a display unit of the user's computer in accordance with the conditions input and the selected insurance providers.

摘要: A system and method for permitting a consumer to compare premium estimates form a plurality of insurance providers based on inputting conditions which affect the premium calculation a single time to a network such as the Internet. A user initiates a session by connecting his computer to an insurance comparison website provided by a service underwriter. The user inputs various conditions which might affect the premium for a desired insurance product. The user inputs condition data to condition input screen and sends the condition data to the service underwriter. The service underwriter converts the condition data into a form suitable for a standard interface and sends the formatted data to computers of one or more participating and user selected insurance companies or underwriters. A premium calculation engine at the computer for each insurance company calculates an estimated premium. This, and other pertinent insurance policy data, is displayed to the user.

摘要: A fixing device includes an endless fixing rotator, a heater, a nip formation pad, and a pressure rotator. The heater is disposed opposite an inner circumferential surface of the fixing rotator to heat the fixing rotator. The nip formation pad is disposed opposite the inner circumferential surface of the fixing rotator that is slidable over the nip formation pad. The pressure rotator is configured to press against the nip formation pad via the fixing rotator to form a fixing nip through which a recording medium bearing a toner image is conveyed while being sandwiched between the fixing rotator and the pressure rotator. The nip formation pad includes a base and a thermal equalizer having a thermal conductivity higher than a thermal conductivity of the base. The nip formation pad has a nip face opposite the fixing nip. The thermal equalizer is disposed in at least part of the nip face.

摘要: In an initial state where a push rod is pressed down, a base of a movable contact point board supporting a movable contact point makes contact with inclined protruding portions of a moving block by a second spring to be inclined. When the movable contact point makes contact with a fixed contact point following the projecting of the push rod, the base makes contact with stoppers. Thereafter, since the moving block alone rises, the movable contact point board rotates following the end edges of the stoppers according to release of the pressing by the protruding portion. Thereby the movable contact point largely slides and is displaced to the fixed contact point.

摘要: In a fixing device, a controller switches a pressing member between a pressure application state to contact the pressing member against a fixing member and a pressure release state to separate the pressing member from the fixing member. The controller starts rotation of the pressing member before the pressing member contacts the fixing member in the pressure application state, when the pressing member switches from the pressure release state to the pressure application state. An oil applier includes an oil pan and an oil regulating member. The oil pan is provided under the pressing member to contain oil in which the pressing member is dipped. The oil regulating member is provided downstream from the oil pan in a direction of rotation of the pressing member to contact the pressing member to regulate an amount of oil adhering to the pressing member.

摘要: A particulate material processing apparatus has a vessel and a processing tank. The vessel has a charging port for charging a particulate material into the vessel. The processing tank receives the particulate material charged from the charging port. The processing tank is shaped so as to narrow towards the bottom. At least the lower part of the processing tank is made of a gas-permeable material that allows the process gas for processing the particulate material to pass through. The upper part of the processing tank has lower gas permeability than the lower part of the processing tank.
