摘要: A measuring device to measure vascular function of an artery includes a cuff that is attachable to a specified part of a body to constrict the artery, a pulse wave amplitude calculating device that calculates an amplitude of a pulse wave that is synchronous with a heartbeat and is based on a change in a volume of the artery, and an inference device that infers a pressure-to-volume characteristic for the artery based on the amplitude of the pulse wave and a corresponding pressure. A blood pressure meter incorporating the measuring device uses a measure of the vascular function to determine a degree of sclerosis in the artery.

摘要: The force from a drive rod driven by an electric motor is transmitted via a link arm pivotally linked to the drive rod and a back door. When the back door is operated in opening direction, the link arm is supported by open-side support sliders and the acting direction of the force applied to the link arm by the drive rod is shifted to the opening direction of the back door. When the back door is operated in dosing direction, the link arm is supported by closed-side support slider and a closed-side support roller and the acting direction of the force applied to the link arm by the drive rod is shifted to the closing direction of the back door. The open-side and closed side support sliders are pressed against the link arm by leaf spring members so that the link arm is prevented from oscillating between the sliders.

摘要: A high-polymer neutron shielding material which scarcely reduces the hydrogen number density when exposed to a high temperature of 150 to 200° C. for a long time period A heat-setting type epoxy resin is employed. The base resin is selected from various epoxy resins such as bisphenol A type epoxy resin. The hardener is selected from alicyclic polyamine, polyamide amine, aromatic polyamine, acid anhydride, and so on. These materials are mixed and hardened at a temperature higher than the room temperature. To give a flame resistance to the hardened resin, a fire retardant such as magnesium hydroxide is added to the mixture. To improve the neutron shielding performance of the hardened resin, a neutron absorbing material is added to the mixture. Further, to increase the moderating performance, hydrogenated bisphenol A epoxy resin is used as the base resin or metal hydride or hydrogen absorbing alloy is added. The present neutron shielding material works as a significant neutron shielding material as its hydrogen number density does not go down for a long time under a high-temperature condition and the neutron shielding performance does not go down.

摘要: In the bottom face of a head plate (14), a recessed portion (14A) open to the front of a prober chamber (11) is formed. In the recessed portion (14A), a card exchange mechanism (20) for exchanging a probe card (13) is arranged. The exchange mechanism (20) includes a card supporting member (21) for supporting thereon the probe card (13), retractable mechanisms (22), air cylinders (24) and cam mechanisms (35). The retractable mechanisms (22) are designed to move the supporting member (21) in substantially horizontal directions between a connecting position of the probe card (13) corresponding to a pogo ring (16), and a region near a side opening of a case (10C). The air cylinders (24) and the cam mechanisms (35) are designed to move the supporting member (21) in vertical directions with respect to the head plate (14) so as to connect/disconnect the probe card (13) to/from a test head (15) via the pogo ring (16).

摘要: A dry radioactive substance storage facility stores spent fuel assemblies from nuclear power plants. The facility comprises a structure having a storage room storing storage tubes containing spent fuel assemblies. An air inlet duct defining an air inlet passage through which air is supplied into the storage room and an stack defining an air discharged passage through which air from the storage room is discharge outside are connected to the storage room. Radiation shielding members are disposed on the side of the air inlet duct and on the side of the stack, respectively, in the storage room to intercept radiation propagating toward the air inlet passage and the air discharge passage.

摘要: A display device such as a projector and its adjusting system are provided which are arranged to easily adjust a brightness tracking (gamma) characteristic and a white balance of a displayed image. On the screen of the display device of the invention are displayed an image composed from a video signal, an adjustment item, adjustment patterns for aiding in gamma (white balance) adjustment and all the concerned adjustment values. The display device is arranged to execute the adjustments while the user is making sure of the adjusted states of a white area, a black area and a gray area therebetween. This arrangement thus allows the user to efficiently execute the adjustments according to his or her intended characteristic for a short length of time.
