    摘要: The present invention provides a rapid and inexpensive method for extractively isolating acidic lipopeptide antibiotics, such as those having a cyclic peptide or cyclic depsipeptide core, in high yield and purity. In particular, there is provided a method of extracting a variety of acidic lipopeptide antibiotics, directly or indirectly, into water immiscible organic solvents by using a divalent cation chelation procedure.

    摘要: This disclosure describes three new antibiotics designated BM782.alpha.1, BM782.alpha.2, and BM782.alpha.1a which are produced in a microbiological fermentation under controlled conditions using a new strain of an undetermined species of the genus Nocardia or mutants thereof. These new antibacterial agents are active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis as well as both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms and thus are useful for inhibiting the growth of such bacteria and bacilli wherever they may be found.
