摘要: Systems, devices and methods allow inductive recharging of a power source located within or coupled to an implantable medical device while the device is implanted in a patient. The implantable devices in some examples include a multi-axis antenna having a plurality of coil windings arranged orthogonal to one another. The multi-axis antenna configured to generate at least a minimum level of induced current for recharging a power source of the implanted medical device regardless of the orientation of a direction of a magnetic field imposed on the multi-axis antenna relative to an orientation of the implanted medical device and the multi-axis antenna for a given energy level of the imposed magnetic field.

摘要: Systems, devices and methods allow inductive recharging of a power source located within or coupled to an implantable medical device while the device is implanted in a patient. The recharging system/device in some examples includes a first electrical coil and a second electrical coil configured to generate opposing magnetic fields forming a resultant magnetic field within a recharging envelope located between the coils. A third coil of the implantable medical device may be positioned within the recharging envelope so that the resultant magnetic field is imposed on the third coil, causing electrical energy to be induced in the third coil, the induced electrical energy used to recharge a power source of an implantable medical device coupled to the third coil, and/or to power operation of the implantable medical device.

摘要: A lead connector assembly includes a lead receptacle, a sleeve, and a handle for coupling to a medical lead. The lead receptacle has an inner surface and an opening configured to receive the lead. The sleeve is deflectable by the inner surface of the lead receptacle. The sleeve has a distal end portion defining a first outer diameter to engage the lead in a locked position and a second outer diameter greater than the first diameter in an unlocked position. The handle is coupled to the lead receptacle and a proximal end portion of the sleeve to move the sleeve axially in both directions along the longitudinal axis relative to the lead receptacle. The lead connector assembly retains the lead in the locked position. The lead receptacle is couplable to a medical device housing.

The device includes a housing that has a first major surface and a second major surface, a sidewall that extends between the first major surface and the second major surface, and an opening disposed in the sidewall. The device further includes a window disposed on at least one of the first major surface or second major surface of the housing, and a nonconductive material disposed on the housing, wherein the opening is hermetically sealed by the nonconductive material. At least one of the window or the sealed opening is adapted to transmit electromagnetic energy.

摘要: Implantable medical devices include connector enclosure assemblies that utilize conductors that are electrically coupled to feedthrough pins and that extend into a can where electrical circuitry is housed. The conductors may be coupled to the feedthrough pins and to capacitor plates within a filter capacitor by an electrically conductive bonding material and as a single bonding event during manufacturing. The base plate of the connector enclosure assembly may also include a ground pin. Ground capacitor plates may be present at a ground aperture of the filter capacitor where the ground pin passes through so that the ground pin, a ground conductor, and the ground capacitor plate may be coupled. A protective cover may be provided for the connector enclosure assembly to enclose the conductors intended to extend into the can prior to the assembly being joined to the can. Conductors may be attached to a common tab that is subsequently removed.

摘要: Processes for manufacture and assembly of implantable medical devices are described. In particular, techniques are provided for nondestructive electrical isolation assessment of feedthrough assemblies of the implantable medical devices. The feedthrough assemblies may include an insulating structure, a plurality of terminal pins extending through the insulator and a ferrule having an inner lumen into which the insulating structure is disposed. One or more insulating seals may be disposed at the interface of the ferrule-to-insulating structure and/or the terminal pin-to-insulating structure. The electrical isolation assessments may be based on the dielectric properties of the components of the feedthrough assemblies, such as the insulating structure.

摘要: A feedthrough assembly may include a ferrule defining a ferrule opening, a feedthrough at least partially disposed within the ferrule opening, and a capacitive filter array at least partially disposed within the ferrule opening. The feedthrough may include at least one feedthrough conductive pathway and the capacitive filter array may include at least one filter array conductive pathway. In some examples, the feedthrough assembly includes a thick film conductive paste electrically connecting the at least one feedthrough conductive pathway and the at least one filter array conductive pathway. In some examples, the capacitive feedthrough array includes a perimeter conductive contact and a capacitive filter electrically coupling the at least one filter array conductive pathway and the perimeter conductive contact. In some of these examples, the feedthrough assembly includes a thick film conductive paste electrically connecting the perimeter conductive contact and the ferrule.
