摘要: A filter bag support structure, including a first section and a second section. The first section includes a pair of opposed alignment members located partially internal to the first section and extending outwardly away from the first section aligned to insert into the second section. The second section includes at least one annular member. The alignment members are receivable within the second section and have engagement members near a distal end. A locking member is removeably insertable between the opposed alignment members and inhibits the alignment members from flexing inwardly when the locking member is inserted and causes the alignment members to resist being removed from the at least one annular member when a tension load is applied that would tend to separate the first section from the second section to a greater degree than when the locking member is not present.

摘要: A flush toilet includes a bowl assembly defining a bowl. The bowl assembly has a discharge outlet at a lower end and a ledge circumferentially extending about a substantial portion of the bowl. The bowl has a rear surface that is generally flat and vertical. The rear surface transitions to the ledge as the bowl continues clockwise and counter clockwise from the rear surface. A horizontal dimension of the ledge increases as the ledge continues from the rear surface to a front of the bowl. An angle of the ledge increases as the ledge continues from the rear surface to the front. A maximum slope of the ledge is located proximate the front. A nozzle is mounted to the bowl assembly for pressurizing a source of flush water and delivering the source of flush water to the bowl for rinsing and flushing of the bowl. The nozzle is positioned at a rear portion of the bowl and produces a first flow of water in a first circumferential direction about the bowl and a second flow of water in a second circumferential direction about the bowl. The second circumferential direction is opposite to the first circumferential direction. The ledge cascades the first and second flows of flush water down the bowl as the first and second flows of water move in the first and second circumferential directions, respectively.

摘要: The invention provides methods and compositions for increasing Na ion transport and/or epithelial fluid transport in a vertebrate by administering an effective amount of haptoglobin or haptoglobin and hemoglobin. The invention also provides a new therapeutic approach for treating disorders associated with insufficient epithelial Na ion and/or fluid transport, the use of an effective amount of haptoglobin, or haptoglobin and hemoglobin in the preparation of medicament for increasing epithelial Na ion transport in a vertebrate as well as a method of screening a candidate compound for its ability to modulate haptoglobin or haptoglobin and hemoglobin stimulation of epithelial Na ion transport.

摘要: This invention relates to a method and a corresponding apparatus for coating open-pored bodies with at least one coating suspension. In particular, the coating suspension has solids and solutes in a liquid medium in a quantity in wet state which is to correspond to at least a required target quantity. The coating operation has a variation in the applied wet coating quantity from one body to the other. The method according to the invention is characterized by the steps of: coating the body with an actual quantity of the coating suspension, which is always larger than the required target quantity taking the variation of the coating operation into account, determining the difference between the actual quantity and the required target quantity, and reducing the difference between actual quantity and target quantity by removing still wet coating suspension.

摘要: A loudspeaker diaphragm includes a continuous coating on at least one surface of the diaphragm. The continuous coating may be non-uniform and may taper from a maximum in value in one region of the diaphragm to a minimum value in another region of the diaphragm. The coating is formed in a single coating step without the need for use of a contact mask or interruption of the process to change process parameters. The tapered coating is formed by controlling the current density distribution within an electrochemical cell such that the rate of formation of the coating tapers from a first value in one region of the diaphragm to a second value is another region of the diaphragm.

摘要: A treatment for the persons infected with viruses such as HIV. The method takes advantage of the anesthetic membrane effect brought about by certain gases under pressure. A patient infected with HIV, for example, is placed in a pressurized chamber and exposed to one or more gases under pressure in this environment, molecules or compounds bind to specific attachment sites on surfaces of host cells and on the virus. These attachment sites are the same sites that are required by the virus to attach to host cells during the virus's replication process. The result is that viruses are prevented from replicating. In the case of HIV, without replication, the virus is also prevented from mutating. This deleterious effect on the virus allows the body's immune system to reconstitute itself in numbers sufficient to cause clinical remission. The present method generally comprises the steps of selecting the gases, pressures and duration to be used inside a pressurized chamber, and exposing the patient to the selected conditions.
