    摘要: The temperature profile over time of gypsum boards is monitored as the boards harden, to facilitate effective curing of the boards prior to removing excess water therein in an industrial dryer. A substrate is moved by a curing conveyor beneath a gypsum slurry mixer, and the mixer pours slurry onto the substrate. Just prior to the substrate passing under the mixer, an operator places a temperature monitor onto the substrate. The temperature monitor includes a temperature sensor and a microprocessor that receives and stores the signal from the temperature sensor. The temperature monitor is configured such that the height of the sensor is equal to one-half the height of the hardening boards. The slurry that has poured onto the monitor hardens into a test board, and when the test board arrives at the end of the curing conveyor, an operator breaks open the test board, removes the monitor, and connects the microprocessor in the monitor to a computer via a serial port cable. The computer outputs a temperature profile as recorded by the monitor, with the temperature profile being representative of the efficacy of the curing of the boards in the particular batch of boards that were poured with the test board.

    摘要: A method of making a glue-down prefinished hardwood flooring product, which includes the steps of providing a wooden flooring component for installation with like flooring components to form a floor. The flooring component has a top surface for being exposed after installation, a bottom surface and opposed side edges. The bottom surface of the flooring component has a plurality of longitudinally-spaced scores cut therein transverse to the length of flooring component from one side edge to the other side edge and along substantially the entire length of flooring component for more closely adhering to irregularities of the subfloor. An adhesive layer is applied and permanently adhered directly to the bottom surface of the flooring component from one end edge to an opposite end edge thereof for providing an attachment interface surface for adhering the flooring component to the subfloor. Locking means are formed in the flooring component. The locking means extend along the length of the flooring component adjacent opposing side edges for locking adjacent flooring components together side-to-side to form the wood floor. A marginal area devoid of adhesive is left adjacent at least one of the opposing side edges on the bottom surface of the flooring component. A protective release cover is applied to the attachment interface surface of the adhesive to protect the adhesive until removal of the release cover when the flooring component is applied to the subfloor.

    摘要: A process is disclosed for producing reinforced twin-sheet thermoformed articles comprising the steps of heating first and second sheets of thermoplastic material; forming the sheets in molds; heating a reinforcing insert of thermoplastic material; placing the heated insert on the first sheet in its mold at the location to be reinforced; pressing the second sheet into contact with the heated first sheet and the heated insert to form the insert between the sheets so that a fusion of the thermoplastic sheets and the insert takes place to produce a reinforced section of the article having a desired shape and thickness. Alternative processes are disclosed wherein a heated quantity of thermoplastic liquid material is extruded or injected between the first and second sheets within the first and second molds either by inserting the liquid material before the molds are closed or by injecting it through one of the molds. Also disclosed are twin-sheet thermoformed articles with reinforced sections which are thicker than the combined thicknesses of the two thermoformed sheets at a particular location. The articles may advantageously be reinforced with plastic identical to the plastic of the two sheets. The articles are also easily recycled as they are entirely plastic with no non-plastic matter included.
