摘要: The present invention relates to protein chips useful for the large-scale study of protein function where the chip contains densely packed reaction wells. The invention also relates to methods of using protein chips to assay simultaneously the presence, amount, and/or function of proteins present in a protein sample or on one protein chip, or to assay the presence, relative specificity, and binding affinity of each probe in a mixture of probes for each of the proteins on the chip. The invention also relates to methods of using the protein chips for high density and small volume chemical reactions. Also, the invention relates to polymers useful as protein chip substrates and methods of making protein chips. The invention further relates to compounds useful for the derivatization of protein chip substrates.

摘要: A process for reducing the likelihood of or correcting dysphotopsia from intraocular lens implant surgery. The process includes a step of scanning the eye of a patient in need of the intraocular lens implant surgery using a noninvasive echo-locating instrument for obtaining nasal retina information about the eye. Based at least in part from the nasal retina information, a prophylactic measure can be recommended prior to cataract removal surgery, or a corrective measure can be recommended to address the dysphotopsia after the cataract removal surgery. Use of artificial intelligence as part of the process is also contemplated.

摘要: An ophthalmic pinhole prosthetic and a method of fabricating the same. The ophthalmic pinhole prosthetic comprises an annular portion, an inner perimeter, and an interior light transmitting portion. The annular portion may be optically opaque or at least partially optically opaque. The inner perimeter may include surface modifications configured to reduce or substantially eliminate diffraction of light compared to an ophthalmic pinhole prosthetic without the surface modifications. The interior light transmitting portion may be located within the annular portion and function to allow passage of light to interact with a retina.

摘要: Measuring of the binding of a transcription factor (using, for example, chromatin immunoprecipitation) according to the present invention is provides an improved marker for a disease. These markers can be used in diagnostics for diseases where a transcription factor binding event plays a role. Additionally, they can be used to adjust disease risk profiles for healthy individuals as with typical genetic variants.

摘要: Video buttons controlling stage lights. Each of the buttons includes a video part, which displays either video or an image that previews the function that is carried out by the button when it is pressed. The buttons can be full-color buttons that show full color videos. An array of buttons can be grouped together, so that the array can operate in different modes, one of which in which the array shows an overall display, and another of which in which the array shows a single function per button. Different technologies including analog switches, touch screens, and the like can be used.

摘要: A device is disclosed having a low-voltage memory device. The device includes a first memory having a first memory topology and a second memory having a second memory topology, with both memories located in an integrated circuit. The first memory is a relatively high-density memory device, capable of storing large amounts of data relative to the second memory. The second memory is a low-voltage memory device capable of being accessed at low-voltages relative to the voltage at which the first memory can be accessed. Accordingly, the second memory is accessible when the integrated circuit is placed in a low-voltage mode of operation, which may represent a data retention state (sleep state) for the first memory or other portions of the integrated circuit. Thus, the device is able to store large amounts of data in the high density memory in a normal or active mode of operation, and also have access to the low-voltage memory during the low-voltage mode of operation.

摘要: A system (10) uses shared resources (44, 54) to perform conventional load/store operations, to preload custom data from external sources, and to efficiently manage error handling in a cache (42, 52, 48). A reload buffer (44, 54) is used in conjunction with a cache (42, 52) operating in a write-through mode to permit lower level memory in the system to operate in a more efficient write-back mode. A control signal (70) selectively enables the pushing of data into the cache (42, 52, 48) from an external source. The control signal utilizes one or more attribute fields that provide functional information and define memory characteristics.
