Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein facilitate the use of the primary work queue within an information management application as a centralized access point for creating and viewing multiple types of new draft items such as a note, to-do, or message item. An information management application can receive a new item request through its user interface and initiate a new draft item in response to the new item request. A view of new draft item can then be surfaced in a primary work queue of the information management application. The item type of the new draft item may be different than other item types in the primary work queue.

In at least some implementations, content associated with a group identity is presented based on priority settings for each user from a group of users. According to various implementations, priority settings are determined for each user based on an individual identity for each user and the group identity. Abstract: A system for modifying a user interface described herein can include a processor to detect a plurality of display screens electronically coupled to the system. The processor can also detect a first gesture corresponding to an application window displayed in one of the display screens and generate a preview panel in response to detecting the first gesture, the preview panel to be displayed proximate the application window, wherein the preview panel is to display a real-time image comprising content displayed in each of the display screens. Furthermore, the processor can detect a second gesture to move the application window to a different display screen modify the user interface to display the application window in the different display screen.

Abstract: Information about foreground and background regions in an image are used in a graphical user interface to combine the image with one or more user interface elements. The combination of the image and user interface element can change interactively. The combined image and user interface element can provide a sense of depth to the user interface. A server computer can include an image library to store pixel data for an image and metadata describing foreground and background regions of an image. A user interface object can represent the combination of an image and a user interface element by including references to the foreground and background regions of an image, and a reference to one or more user interface elements, and data specifying a different z-ordering for each of the foreground region, the background region and the user interface element, and properties to be applied to the user interface element.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for configuring a group of displays. A grouping of display devices that are to be combined to form an integrated display is identified. A prompt is generated for user input indicative of a spatial arrangement of the display devices. In response to the prompt, a series of user inputs is received by one or more input sensors. Based on the series of user inputs, the spatial arrangement of the display devices is estimated. Based on the estimated spatial arrangement of the display devices, portions of display data are mapped to the display devices. The mapped portions of the display data are rendered on the display devices to form an integrated display.

Abstract: Electronic devices described herein are configured to display updated content associated with a first application having a first user interface element disposed in a background area of a display that is obscured by a second user interface element associated with a second application. Responsive to a command from the first application to notify the user of the updated content, the operating system displays at least a portion of a translucent version of the first user interface element with the updated content in the foreground display area, wherein the translucent version of the first user interface element obscures at least a portion of the second user interface element.
