    摘要: An apparatus for forming a thin film has a vacuum container to which an active gas, an inert gas or a mixture thereof is introduced, and a source of evaporation from which a substance is evaporated. A counter electrode is disposed in the vacuum container for holding a substrate for forming a thin film thereon in such a manner as to be opposed to the source of evaporation. A grid is disposed between the source of evaporation and the counter electrode and having openings which allow the evaporated substance to pass therethrough. A filament for thermionic emission is disposed between the grid and the source of evaporation. A target is also disposed between the filament and the source of evaporation for emitting sputtered particles. A power source device establishes predetermined electric potential relationships between the grid, the filament, and the target.

    摘要: A thin film deposition system includes a vacuum or evacuated casing in which there is introduced an active gas or an inert gas or a mixture thereof. A filament emits thermions which impinge upon gas molecules to ionize them into positive ions. The ions bombard a target, from which particles are emitted toward a substrate. The particles emitted from the target are also ionized by the thermions. In the vicinity of a grid, more particles from the target are ionized by thermions which are vertically oscillated and ionized molecules of the gas. The ions are accelerated toward the substrate and bombard the substrate, thereby depositing a thin film thereon. The thin film deposition system may additionally have an evaporation source for supporting an evaporant which emit particles to be deposited on the substrate.

The thumbnail designating unit designates a thumbnail image. The thumbnail display unit displays a processed thumbnail image that represents a result of the selected process performed on the image data corresponding to the designated thumbnail image.

    摘要: An image processor enabling a user to quickly select desired images from a large number of images without scrolling repeatedly through the images. The image processor assigns image numbers to segments of a scroll bar and displays image data corresponding to an image number assigned at the position on the scroll bar pressed by the user. The image processor also reduces the number of image numbers assigned per segment of the scroll bar near the image number at the pressed position on the scroll bar to facilitate the user in specifying a desired image through a subsequent input operation.

    摘要: The message delivery system has a first and a second computer and a storage device. The first computer receives messages sent from a sender, delivers the messages to at least a part of receiver computers and gets states of message delivery to these receiver computers. Based on the message delivery states, a check is made as to whether there are any slow receiver computers that have the message delivery thereto delayed. When there are slow receiver computers, a request is made to switch a message delivery control over the detected slow receiver computers from the first computer to the second computer. Then the second computer takes over the message delivery control over the slow receiver computers and resumes delivering the messages to the slow receiver computers.

When the user operates a disc recorder 210B that is a CEC-non-compliant device by using a remote control sender 277, a television receiver 250B generates a CEC control command addressed to the disc recorder 210B. The photo player 370B detects the CEC control command, converts the CEC control command into an infrared remote control command, and sends the infrared remote control command from an infrared sending unit 384 to the disc recorder 210B.
