摘要： An inner peripheral surface and a lower end surface of a bearing sleeve made of a sintered metal are each formed into a smooth cylindrical surface or a flat surface that does not have a dynamic pressure generating portion. Thus, a step of forming the dynamic pressure generating portion can be omitted from a manufacturing step of the bearing sleeve, and cost of dies can be markedly reduced. Further, the inner peripheral surface of the bearing sleeve is formed into the smooth cylindrical surface, and hence a radial dynamic pressure generating portion is formed on an outer peripheral surface of a shaft member. However, the outer peripheral surface of the shaft portion is accessible to tools, and hence the radial dynamic pressure generating portion can be formed easily with high accuracy. As a result, accuracy of a radial bearing gap is enhanced so that a bearing rigidity is enhanced.

摘要： A hydrodynamic bearing unit is provided, by which the touch between oil and a sealing member in a housing is prevented to prevent oil leakage. A bearing member made of a sintered lubricant-containing metal is disposed along the inner periphery of the housing and a spindle is supported in a non-contact manner by the hydrodynamic oil pressure that is generated in a bearing gap by the rotation of the spindle. The opening of the housing is sealed by the sealing member. A ventilation path is formed so as to communicate a sealed space enclosed by the distal end of the spindle at the bottom of the housing, the bearing member and the housing with open air. An oil reservoir is formed between the inner periphery of the housing and the outer periphery of the bearing member at the end portion of the opening side of the housing. The oil reservoir is made so as to communicate with the ventilation path.

摘要： A low-cost shaft member for hydrodynamic bearing apparatuses restores the pressure balance in a thrust bearing gap formed on both axial sides of the flange portion in an early stage. A shaft material integrally having a shaft portion and a flange portion with a through-hole between both end faces of the flange portion is formed in a common forging step. As a result, the through-hole is formed to open to an inner diameter side of the bearing gaps avoiding the thrust bearing gaps formed on both end faces of the flange portion of the shaft member as a finished product.

摘要： A hydrodynamic type oil-impregnated sintered bearing includes a porous bearing body of sintered metal having a bearing surface in which hydrodynamic pressure generating grooves slating against an axial direction are provided. Lubricating oil or the base oil of lubricating grease to be impregnated into the bearing body is selected from among (a) mixtures of poly-α-olefin or hydrogenated compound thereof and ester and (b) ester. The ester is preferably polyol ester. In the cases of the lubricating grease, the thickener of the lubricating grease is preferably composed of urea compound. A plurality of bearing surfaces may be formed on the inner periphery of the bearing body so as to be separated from one another. The hydrodynamic type oil-impregnated sintered bearing may be suitably applied to a spindle motor for information equipment.

The bearing surface 1b has a first region m1 in which a plurality of hydrodynamic pressure generating grooves 1c inclined in one direction with respect to the axial direction are circumferentially disposed, a second region m2 which is axially spaced from said first region m1 and in which a plurality of hydrodynamic pressure generating grooves 1c inclined in the other direction with respect to the axial direction are circumferentially disposed, and an annular smooth region n disposed between the first and second regions m1 and m2.
