The pressure sensitive adhesive sheet has a thickness of D, a water-vapor permeability of X, and a moisture content of Y. XD2 is 2.7×10−6 g/24 h or more and Y/D is 47 m−1 or less. A base polymer of a pressure sensitive adhesive composition that forms the pressure sensitive adhesive sheet is substantially free from an organic acid monomer component as monomer units. The pressure sensitive adhesive sheet is suitably used for bonding a polarizing plate to a transparent member disposed on a viewing-side of an image display device.

Provided is a surface protective sheet which satisfactorily adheres even to a coated surface having a rough surface, and not only does not cause an adhesive residue that can be observed with eyes but also does not impair the self-cleaning property of the surface of a coated plate. The surface protective sheet includes: a base material layer; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, in which: a main component in a pressure-sensitive adhesive for constructing the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer includes a polymer P obtained by cross-linking a polymer A; in pulse NMR measurement of the polymer P at 30° C., the maximum spin-spin relaxation time T2MAX in all spin-spin relaxation times T2 of protons to be measured falls within the range of 300 to 800 μs; and the content of a polymer component corresponding to the maximum spin-spin relaxation time T2MAX in the polymer P is 60% or more.

An object of the present invention is to provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition that enables a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer to be formed, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer allowing the appearance of a display device and an input device to be unlikely to deteriorate even under low pressure conditions, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet, an optical member, and a touch panel. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the present invention contains an acrylic polymer (A) and a hydrogenated polyolefinic resin (B). The acrylic polymer (A) contains a (meth)acrylic alkyl ester having an alkyl group having 8 or more carbon atoms as a constituent monomer component. The hydrogenated polyolefinic resin (B) contains a hydrogenated polyolefin.

Provided is a surface protective sheet, which satisfactorily adheres to an adherend and which can be easily re-released and suppresses contamination due to a pressure-sensitive adhesive remaining on the surface of the adherend after the release of the sheet. The surface protective sheet includes: a base material layer; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, in which a difference ΔT (%) between the visible light transmittance T1 (%) of a transparent substrate having an antireflection film and the visible light transmittance T2 (%) of the transparent substrate resulting when the surface protective sheet is attached to one side of the transparent substrate and left to stand at 160° C. for 1 hour, and then the surface protective sheet is released under a temperature environment of 23° C. (ΔT=T1−T2) satisfies a relationship of ΔT≦1.8.

The polarizing plate of the present invention includes an optical functional film, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, a polarizing film, and a protective film in the stated order, in which: the polarizing film has a thickness of 15 μm or less; the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a thickness of 15 μm or less; the optical functional film has a moisture permeability of 200 g/m2/24 h or less; and the protective film has a moisture permeability of 1,000 g/m2/24 h or less.

Provided is a surface protective film including, as an outermost layer, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer containing a urethane-based pressure-sensitive adhesive as a main component, the surface protective film allowing the contamination of an adherend to be extremely suppressed, and being preferably excellent in wettability and reworkability. The surface protective film of the present invention includes, as an outermost layer, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer containing, as a main component, a urethane-based pressure-sensitive adhesive containing a polyurethane-based resin; and when a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer side of the surface protective film is attached to a glass plate at 50° C. for 10 days and then the surface protective film is peeled from the glass plate, a residual adhesive strength on the peeled surface side of the glass plate is 3.0 N/19 mm or more.

A urethane-based pressure-sensitive adhesive including a polyurethane-based resin, in which: the polyurethane-based resin includes a polyurethane-based resin obtained by curing a composition containing a polyol (A) and a polyfunctional isocyanate compound (B); and the polyol (A) contains a polyol (A1) having 3 OH groups and a number-average molecular weight Mn of 8,000 to 20,000. The urethane-based pressure-sensitive adhesive is excellent in reworkability, initial wettability, and transparency, and is preferably excellent in adhesive residue-preventing property, that preferably has a large wetting rate, and that is preferably prevented from showing external appearance unevenness due to orange peel. Also provided is a surface protective film using such urethane-based pressure-sensitive adhesive in its pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. Further provided is an optical member or electronic member to which such surface protective film is attached.

The surface protective sheet includes: a base material layer; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, in which, when the surface protective sheet is attached to a silicon wafer on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer side of the sheet and left to stand at 40° C. for 24 hours, and then the surface protective sheet is released under a temperature environment of 23° C., the surface of the resultant silicon wafer has a C/Si ratio of 0.8 or less in photoelectron spectroscopy analysis.
