摘要： A method for detecting or measuring homocysteine in a sample includes the steps of (a) reacting a D-amino acid present in a sample with a D-amino acid converting enzyme to convert the D-amino acid into a substance that does not serve as a substrate of D-amino acid oxidase or D-amino acid acetyltransferase; (b) reducing homocysteine in the sample with a thiol compound; (c) reacting the reduced homocysteine with a methyltransferase and a methyl donor to newly produce D-amino acid; and (d) reacting the produced D-amino acid with the D-amino acid oxidase or the D-amino acid acetyltransferase in the presence of an SH reagent to produce hydrogen peroxide, and color-developing the produced hydrogen peroxide by using an oxidative color-developing agent.

摘要： An aniline derivative of the formula (1) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is an eicosapentaenoyl or docosahexaenoyl; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each independently an alkyl or alkoxy having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a halogen atom; R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or alkoxy having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a halogen atom; and A is a single bond, --C(.dbd.O)NH--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NH-- wherein n is 2 or 3, or a bivalent group of the following formula ##STR2## wherein m and p are each independently 0 or 1. The aniline derivative of the present invention has high inhibitory activity against and high selectivity for ACAT derived from macrophage and is useful as an agent for the prophylaxis and treatment of arteriosclerosis.

摘要： The present invention provides a method and a kit for detecting or quantitatively determining homocysteine rapidly and simply and with high sensitivity by oxidizing the residual homocysteine cosubstrate, the produced homocysteine-converting enzyme product or an enzyme reaction product thereof in the presence of an SH reagent to produce hydrogen peroxide and determining the produced hydrogen peroxide by color development using an oxidative color-developing agent. By using the method and kit of the present invention, homocysteine in biological samples, in particular, in body fluids such as blood and urine can be detected and quantitatively determined rapidly and simply and with high sensitivity.

摘要： There is provided a millimeter wave imaging apparatus including: a lens antenna forming a subject image based on the millimeter waves from a subject; a line sensor including a plurality of millimeter wave sensors and capturing an image for one line of a predetermined width of the whole subject; a reflector having a reflecting surface reflecting millimeter waves; a reflection angle change device changing an angle of the reflecting surface; an image generation device generating an image of the whole subject from the respective subject images for one line; a millimeter wave radiation unit radiating a reference millimeter wave; a correction value setting device setting correction values with respect to the detected values by the millimeter wave sensors based on the millimeter wave from the millimeter wave radiation unit; and a detected value correction device correcting the detected values by the millimeter wave sensors with the correction values.

摘要： A millimeter wave imaging apparatus includes: an imaging device including a plurality of millimeter wave sensors that are arranged in a planar manner and receive millimeter waves radiated from a subject to detect signal levels thereof; a temperature sensor that detects a temperature of the imaging device; a storage device that stores, with respect to the each of the millimeter wave sensors, temperature characteristics data indicating a relationship between the temperature detected by the temperature sensor and the output from the millimeter wave sensor; and an image data generation device that obtains a deviation of an output from the each of the millimeter wave sensors from reference temperature characteristics based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor and the temperature characteristics data stored by the storage device, corrects the output from the each of the millimeter wave sensors based on the deviation, and thereby generates the image data.

摘要： A hinge structure of a spectacle frame has bearings formed at the ends of end pieces provided outside a pair of lenses or outside the rims supporting the lenses, pivotally rotatable shafts at the tips of a pair of temples are pivotally rotatably connected with the bearings, a compressed elastic means, being provided around the pivotally rotatable shaft exposed in the recess between the flange and the support face, to give pressure to the bearing for keeping the sliding face of the temple in slidable contact with the sliding face of the bearing. The hinge structure of a spectacle frame overcomes the disadvantages of the conventional hinge structure; that is functionally excellent because of easy assembling, needlessness of complicated adjustment, and capability to keep the temple turning torque constant for a long time; and that is also excellent in appearance and design.
