摘要: A filter element which is improved in filter performance and suitable for use in various types of filters. In the filter element, a multiplicity of tubes each formed of a filtering material and having a substantially circular shape in cross-section are arranged side by side into a tubular assembly with the axes of the tubes lying parallel to one another; inter-tube openings are closed at one end of the tubular assembly which end serves as the inlet side for a fluid to be filtered, whereas intra-tube openings are closed on the opposite end of the tubular assembly; and the total cross-sectional area of all the inter-tube openings, is set smaller than the total cross-sectional area of all the intra-tube openings, but larger than the minimum cross-sectional area of a path through which the fluid is supplied to the tubular assembly. Specifically, one or more filtering materials including a plurality of tubes each having a substantially circular shape in cross-section and connecting portions to interconnect the adjacent tubes are rolled into a spiral shape to provide the tubular assembly with the axes of the tubes arranged side by side parallel to one another.

摘要: A method for producing a filter element has three steps. In first step, a filter body including at least one first passageway and at least one second passageway or clearance extends closely and substantially parallel to the first passageway and communicate with first hole through a filter material is formed. In second step, a sheet-shaped thermoplastic adhesive is arranged on one end of the filter body, the first passageway and the second passageway or clearance are open at the one end of the filter body. In third step, the sheet-shaped thermoplastic adhesive is melted by heating to close and seal an end of the second passageway or clearance at the one end of the filter body so that the passageways do not deform.

摘要: A fuel feed apparatus supplies fuel in a fuel tank to an outside of the fuel tank. The fuel feed apparatus includes a fuel pump that is accommodated in the fuel tank. The fuel pump pumps fuel in the fuel tank. The suction filter connects with an inlet of the fuel pump. The suction filter is arranged in a bottom portion of the fuel tank. The suction filter removes foreign matters contained in fuel drawn into the fuel pump. The holder engages with a lateral portion of the suction filter. The holder restricts the suction lifter from moving in a lateral direction of the suction filter.

摘要: A high-pressure pump is comprised of a lower housing, an upper housing and a cover, which are formed independently from each other. Thereby, shapes of the above can be simplified. Although the cylinder and the plunger receive a fuel pressure during a pressurization stroke, the upper housing and the cover do not receive fuel pressure directly from a pressurization chamber. Therefore, the upper housing and the cover can be made thin and light as much as possible.

摘要: A fuel feed apparatus pumps fuel in a fuel tank to an outside of the fuel tank. The fuel feed apparatus includes a lid member that covers an opening formed in the fuel tank. The lid member includes an outlet passage, through which fuel passes to the outside of the fuel tank. A pump module is accommodated in the fuel tank. The pump module is supported by the lid member. The pump module includes a fuel pump that pumps fuel in the fuel tank to the outside of the fuel tank. A pipe member connects with a pipe connecting portion of the outlet passage and a pipe connecting portion of the pump module. The pipe member introduces fuel discharged from the pump module to the outlet passage. The pipe connecting portion of the outlet passage and the pipe connecting portion of the pump module are substantially perpendicular to an axis of the lid member.

The canister defines a space in the vicinity of a lateral periphery of the canister in the fuel tank. The fuel feed apparatus further includes a pump module that is located in the space. The fuel feed apparatus further includes a connecting member that is axially slidable with respect to the lid module and the pump module along the lateral periphery of the canister and a lateral periphery of the pump module. When the lid module is connected to the fuel tank by moving the lid module toward the pump module along the connecting member, the connecting member hooks to the pump module, so that the connecting member is restricted from moving in a direction, in which the lid module moves toward the pump module.

摘要: A resinous lid member is constructed of a flange, a lower case, an upper case and a cover. The lower case is connected with the upper case, so that a cooling passage is formed. Fuel is discharged from a fuel pump into the cooling passage through a discharge pipe of a filter case, a flexible pipe and an inlet pipe. The cover covers the opening of the upper case, so that the cover forms a receiving chamber with the upper case to receive a circuit portion that generates heat. The receiving chamber has an air outlet port which is connected with an intake manifold of an engine. The engine is operated, and negative pressure is generated in the intake manifold, so that air flows from an air inlet port, which is opened to the air, to the air outlet port through the receiving chamber, so that the air flow cools the control circuit received in the receiving chamber.
