    Abstract: Provided is a battery unit capable of reducing the size of vehicle installation space by being more compact. A battery unit equipped with: a plurality of battery modules each containing a plurality of battery cells which are connected in parallel with one another, and each having a duct chamber for discharging gas emitted by the battery cells; and a fixing member for fixing the plurality of battery modules to the wall of a storage case in a manner such that the modules are integrally assembled with one another. The fixing member has an attachment part which attaches to a module case, and the attachment part includes an exhaust duct part for collecting and discharging the gas emitted into the duct chamber of each battery module.

    Abstract: A battery including: a battery can including a cylinder portion including an opening edge portion at one end portion of the cylinder portion and a bottom portion that closes the other end portion of the cylinder portion; an electrode body; a sealing member that seals an opening of the opening edge portion. The sealing member includes: a sealing plate; a cap connected to the sealing plate and electrically insulated from the sealing plate; and a sealing portion sealing a space between the cylinder portion and the cap. The cap includes: a ring-shaped top plate portion opposing the opening edge portion in an axial direction of the cylinder portion; and a side wall portion covering an outer circumferential surface of the cylinder portion. The sealing portion may be a gasket provided between the cap and the cylinder portion in a compressed state. The cap is electrically connected to the cylinder portion.

    Abstract: A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells each having a safety mechanism, a cell case having a plurality of battery housing parts for housing the plurality of battery cells respectively in a predetermined arrangement, an insulating member disposed on one side of each of the battery cells, and a duct serving as a route for exhausting exhaust gas discharged from the battery cells. The battery housing parts have a plurality of openings for housing the battery cells. The insulating member has a through hole formed at a position facing an opening of the plurality of openings that houses corresponding one of the battery cells, and a lid part for closing an opening of the plurality of openings that houses no battery cell. The exhaust gas is discharged to the route of the duct through the through hole of the insulating member.

    Abstract: A battery module includes a plurality of battery blocks connected in series. Each battery block includes a plurality of batteries connected in parallel, and each battery includes a release portion through which a gas generated in the battery is released. Each battery block includes a holder in which the batteries are housed with the release portions oriented in the same direction, a bus bar provided over the holder and connecting in parallel electrodes of the batteries, a lid provided over the bus bar and defining therebetween an exhaust chamber through which the gas released from the release portions is released outside the battery block. The lids of at least two of the battery blocks are physically connected to each other. Each lid is made of aluminum or a material having an ionization tendency greater than that of aluminum, and the bus bar is made of copper.

    Abstract: A battery unit includes the following elements: a battery module that includes a plurality of battery cells and a gas discharge opening for discharging gas jetted from each of the battery cells; and a gas discharge duct in communication with the gas discharge opening and discharging the gas to the outside of the battery module. The gas discharge duct includes at least one duct outlet of which cross-sectional area of the channel in the duct outlet or the sum of cross-sectional areas of the channel in the respective duct outlets is larger than a cross-sectional area of the channel on the upstream side in the flow direction of the gas. The gas discharge duct also includes a temperature reducing member that is fixed to the periphery of the duct outlet so as to block part of the channel and reduces the temperature of the gas going through gaps.

    Abstract: A cylindrical battery includes an electrode unit configured as a roll of a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate with a separator in between. The first electrode plate is an electrode plate to which one end of a first electrode tab and one end of a second electrode tab are connected, and the second electrode plate has the opposite polarity from the first electrode plate. Additionally, a case houses the electrode unit and a sealing member seals an opening rim of the case. The first electrode tab and the second electrode tab are disposed to project out from the first electrode plate at opposite ends of a winding axis of the first electrode plate. The first electrode tab contacts at a bottom portion of the case and the second electrode tab is welded at the opening rim side opposite the bottom portion of the case.
