Abstract: A temperature detector detects a temperature of an electricity storage unit installed in a casing. A controller estimates a temperature outside the casing on the basis of a detection temperature of the electricity storage unit detected by the temperature detector. The controller estimates an outdoor air temperature outside the casing on the basis of a change amount of detection temperature per a predetermined period detected in a state where a cooling unit is operated and a change amount of detection temperature per the predetermined period detected in a state where the cooling unit is stopped.

Abstract: A cell module includes a plurality of cells that each have a cylindrical shape and include a positive-electrode terminal and a negative-electrode terminal disposed on one end of the cell. One of the terminals is located at a center, and the other terminal is located on a circumferential edge and is electrically connected to a side surface of a tube of each of the cells, a connection intervening member mounted on the other terminal includes a tab extending along the side surface of the tube and electrically connected to the side surface, and a hole that causes the center of the one end to be exposed. The plurality of cells make up a cell block where the one ends are oriented in an identical direction, and cells adjacent to each other are aligned in rows, on the one ends of the plurality of cells, a plate having electrical insulating properties is disposed, the plate is provided with a hole that causes the one end of each of the cells to be exposed and is further provided with a plurality of conductive members on a surface of the plate distant from the cells, the conductive members extend along the rows of the cells aligned, two of the conductive members are disposed for each cell block and include terminal connectors electrically connected to terminals, having identical polarity, of the cells in each cell block, and the other terminals are connected with the terminal connectors through the connection intervening member.

Abstract: A rack type power source device includes a plurality of battery packs, a rack to house the plurality of battery packs being arranged, and a connector plate fixed to the rack at a far side in a direction in which the battery packs are inserted into the rack. The connector plate is provided with a plurality of connectors designed to be electrically connected to terminals of the plurality of battery packs. The connector plate includes a side wall that constitutes a part of a first-side wall of the rack, and a connector mount wall disposed at an inner position in the rack so as to form a depth difference from the side wall. The connector mount wall is provided with the plurality of connectors arranged corresponding to the battery packs housed in the rack.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a battery pack which includes a plurality of battery modules housed in a housing. The battery modules are connected in series to each other via connecting members that connects external terminals of the battery modules to each other. The battery modules are classified into groups, each being comprised of at least two of the battery modules, two terminal ones of which have a potential difference of at most V or less between themselves. A first connecting member connects the external terminals of the battery modules to each other between two adjacent ones of the groups. A second connecting member connects the external terminals of the battery modules to each other within an identical one of the groups. If water penetrates into the housing, the first connecting member is electrically cut off, preferentially relative to the second connecting member.

Abstract: A battery including: a battery can including a cylinder portion including an opening edge portion at one end portion of the cylinder portion and a bottom portion that closes the other end portion of the cylinder portion; an electrode body; a sealing member that seals an opening of the opening edge portion. The sealing member includes: a sealing plate; a cap connected to the sealing plate and electrically insulated from the sealing plate; and a sealing portion sealing a space between the cylinder portion and the cap. The cap includes: a ring-shaped top plate portion opposing the opening edge portion in an axial direction of the cylinder portion; and a side wall portion covering an outer circumferential surface of the cylinder portion. The sealing portion may be a gasket provided between the cap and the cylinder portion in a compressed state. The cap is electrically connected to the cylinder portion.

Abstract: In a battery system, a battery module includes a plurality of cells. A management unit manages charging-discharging of the battery module and a temperature inside the battery module. The management unit estimates a maximum temperature of an inside of a cell in the battery module based on a measured temperature in the battery module, and controls, during charging-discharging of the battery module, a charging-discharging current of the battery module and/or cooling of the battery module in such a way that the estimated maximum temperature does not exceed an upper limit temperature.
