    摘要: The present invention is an insulated pitched roof system for a sloped deck in which an insulating component is adhered to the sloped deck and the roof tiles are adhered to the insulating component with an adhesive, preferably a polymer adhesive. The insulating component includes a board or sheet material which is adhered to the roof deck. The insulating component is preferably adhered directly to the roof deck with a polymer adhesive. The insulating component preferably includes interlocking sides for forming a water tight connection between adjacently joined insulating components. Additionally, the insulating components include an end lap portion to form an overlapping portion between adjacent rows of insulating components. In a preferred embodiment, the overlapping portion is adhered together to form a unitary insulative and waterproof layer.

    摘要: A method of bonding a roof tile to a roof substrate utilizing a two component polyurethane foam. The method includes the step of applying under low pressure a stream of a two component foamable liquid polyurethane on a roof substrate. Preferably, the foamable liquid polyurethane has a density in the range of about one and one-half to about two pounds per cubic foot and a reactivity period in the range of about one and one-half to about four minutes. Preferably, the foamable liquid polyurethane is applied at a rate of about two to about three pounds per minute. The roof tile is placed into contact with the foamable liquid polyurethane during the reactivity period of the foamable liquid polyurethane.

    摘要: A dispensing system for mixing at least first and second components and dispensing an expanding foam is disclosed. The system includes separate vessels, each containing a foam component, and a dispensing apparatus. The dispensing apparatus includes a cartridge assembly mounted on a body assembly. The cartridge assembly includes a mix chamber and first and second ports, each for supplying a foam component to the mix chamber. A pair of adjusting valves is mounted to the cartridge assembly with each valve operable to adjust the flow of each foam component to the mix chamber. A pair of hoses connects the vessels to the cartridge assembly. Each adjusting valve is a variable orifice device in the cartridge assembly having the capability of varying the flow area of the port. The present invention also includes a method for adjustably controlling, at the dispensing apparatus, the flow of each of the first and second components to the mixing chamber to alter their ratio therein. Additionally, the throughput of the dispensing apparatus can be controlled by the variable orifice devices.

    摘要: Disclosed is a water blown, open cell, hydrophilic polyurethane foam, a process for preparing such a foam and articles made therefrom. Utilizing a one step process the foam is formed from a reaction mixture comprising an organic polyisocyanate, water, a reaction catalyst and a mixture of certain polyols. The first polyol utilized in the invention is a poly(oxyalkylene) triol, chain terminated with propylene oxide and having a molecular weight in the range of about 2800 to about 6200. The second polyol is a poly(oxyalkylene) polyol, chain terminated with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide and having a molecular weight in the range of about 60 to about 800. The third polyol comprises at least one selected from the group of (i) poly(oxyalkylene) diols chain terminated with ethylene oxide and having a molecular weight in the range of about 500 to about 4000 and (ii) polyfunctional polyols chain terminated with propylene oxide and having a molecular weight in the range of about 250 to about 1000.
