摘要： A counterpulsation device that operates without the use of compressed air or pressurized gas includes at least one inflatable cuff that is adapted to be placed about a selected portion of the patient's body. A conduit connects the inflatable cuff to an air transfer device so that noncompressed air can be transferred from the air transfer device to the cuff through the conduit to inflate the cuff. The conduit also connects the cuff to the air transfer device so that air can flow through the conduit to deflate the cuff. Another conduit is coupled to the first so that the air in the system can be selectively vented into the atmosphere.. A series of valves are placed on the conduit to selectively control whether air is supplied to or withdrawn from the inflatable cuff. The air moving device preferably is a cylinder having a piston that moves through the cylinder to move the air from within the cylinder through the conduit and into or out of the cuff as desired. The piston moves through the cylinder through the use of a linear servo actuator that is controlled by an appropriately programmed electronic controller so that the inflation of the cuff is timed with portions of the patient's EKG signal and peripheral plethysmographic wave.

摘要： A heat-shrink tube for an electrical power cable comprises a sleeve having an insulating inner layer, a conductive outer layer and a thermoplastic mid-layer located between the inner and outer layers. The mid-layer is recovered by the application of heat thereto. The insulating inner layer is preferably comprised of an elastomeric material and the thermoplastic mid-layer is rigid and acts to retain the inner layer in a radially expanded state prior to its recovery.

摘要： A contact safety and trigger mechanism for use with a pneumatic fastener in order to permit efficient pneumatic fastener actuation mode selection. A rotating rod is included in a contact safety assembly which is constructed to slide toward/away from a driver housing, defining a piston for securing a fastener disposed within the piston's path of travel. The rotating rod includes a first shoulder or ledge and a second shoulder which is off-set from the first shoulder. The rod may be rotated in order to orientate the selected shoulder, to function as a stop for a pivoting trigger assembly, which is constructed to contact a pneumatic valve, to initiate a fastening event in-which a fastener is driven into a workpiece. The configuration of the rotating rod permits for selection between a contact actuation mode wherein movement of the contact safety initiates securing of a fastener and a sequential actuation mode in which the trigger assembly is manipulated by a user to trigger securing of a fastener after the contact safety has be depressed towards the driver housing.
