摘要: A stent assembly (10) comprises a stent component (12). The stent component (12) includes a primary arm (14) defining a first open passage; and at least one secondary arm (16) extending at an angle from the primary arm (14), the at least one secondary arm (16) being integrally formed with the primary arm (14) as a one piece unit and the secondary arm (16) defining a second open passage in communication with the passage of the primary arm (14). An outer sheath (20) surrounds and constrains the stent component (12) in a constricted configuration to facilitate insertion of the stent component 12 into a vascular system of a patient. The outer sheath (20) is removable from the stent component (12) to enable the stent component (12) to adopt its operative configuration when the stent component (12) is at its desired position in the vascular system of the patient.

摘要: A catheter sheath 12 includes a tubular member 14 defining a lumen 18, a distal region of the tubular member 14 defining a plurality of discrete elements 28. The discrete elements 28 are displaceable between a first position in which the discrete elements 28 extend parallel to a longitudinal axis of the tubular member 14 and a second position in which the discrete elements 28 project outwardly transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tubular member 14. A plurality of electrical conductors 30 is associated with the tubular member 14, the conductors 30 projecting into the distal region of the tubular member 14. A sleeve is about the tubular member 14, the sleeve and the tubular member 14 being displaceable axially with respect to each other for effecting displacement of the discrete elements 28 between their first and second positions. At least one electrode 36 is carried by at least one of the discrete elements 28, the at least one electrode 36 being in an operative position when the discrete elements 28 are in their second position.

摘要: An implantable sitmulating lead for a cardiac pacemaker has a distal tip having a surface area adapted to physically contact heart tissue for pacing the heart tissue, sensing heart contractions and promoting tissue ingrowth. The distal tip includes a conductive electrode and a porous non-conductive substrate, which together define the surface area of the distal tip. The conductive electrode and porous substrate are provided as first and second members, although the surface area of each is adaptive to present a singular, smooth distal tip region for the electrode lead.

摘要: A catheter sheath for an irrigation catheter comprises an elongate member having a proximal end and a distal end and defining a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end. At least one electrode is arranged on the elongate member. A plurality of elongate elements are contained in the elongate member, the elongate elements comprising at least one electrical conductor and at least one element of a non-conductive material arranged adjacent the at least one electrical conductor to form at least one non-conductive region associated with the elongate member. At least one passage extends through a wall of the elongate member to intersect the non-conductive region and to be in communication with the lumen of the elongate member. The at least one passage has an outlet opening in, or adjacent, the at least one electrode.
