    摘要: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for controlling the states of a light modulator used in displays. A display apparatus includes pixels circuit for controlling the state of operation of dual actuator light modulators. The pixel circuit can be implemented using three transistors and a capacitor. In particular, the pixel circuit can include a charge-discharge transistor, a data transistor, and a feedback transistor. The charge-discharge transistor is used to both selectively charge and selectively discharge an output node of the pixel circuit coupled to the light modulator. The data transistor enables loading a data capacitor with data voltage representative of image data. The feedback transistor provides positive feedback to allow the output node to be charged to the actuation voltage via the charge-discharge transistor.

In one aspect, a pixel circuit can be coupled to the light modulator, and can control the duration for which the light modulator is operated in an open or closed state based on an analog data voltage. In some implementations, the pixel circuit includes a voltage controlled current source (VCCS), which draws a current of a magnitude that is based on the magnitude of the data voltage. The current drawn by the VCCS can be used to control a charge and a voltage on an actuation capacitor coupled to the light modulator. The rate of change of the voltage on the actuation capacitor, and the duration for which the light modulator is maintained in a particular state, is a function of the data voltage applied to the VCCS.

The TFTs, the capacitor, and the voltage sources can be coupled such that an output of the circuit is the logical opposite of an input of the circuit. In some implementations, the circuit can exhibit zero DC current in both logic states and can output voltages substantially equal to the voltage output by the first low-voltage voltage source and the second high-voltage voltage source. In some implementations, the circuit can be used to construct D flip-flops, buffers, and controllers for an active matrix electronic display.

A pixel circuit used to control one or more display elements of a MEMS display apparatus can include a first output node coupled to a first actuator of a display element and a second output node coupled to a second actuator of the display element. The first output node can be coupled to an actuation interconnect via a first pre-charge switch connected in parallel with a first capacitor. The second output node can be connected to the actuation interconnect via a second pre-charge switch connected in parallel with a second capacitor. Energizing the first output node or the second output node can cause the display element to enter or remain in a first state or a second state, respectively.

In one aspect, a system includes an array of display elements each including an electrical element having a first terminal and a transistor. Each electrical element is capable of at least a first and a second configuration based on an electrical state of the transistor. A current sensor is capable of sensing a current through at least one of the transistors. A compensation circuit compares the current with a reference current and provides at least one adjustment signal. A display driver provides an update voltage based on the at least one adjustment signal, and also provides a data signal for each of the display elements. The electrical state of each of the transistors is based on the update voltage and the data signal.
