Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for transmitting and receiving, between an access point (AP) and one or more stations (STAs) in a basic service set (BSS), an indication of a puncturing event. In some examples, the transmitting and receiving may use non-legacy elements configured to provide information about the puncturing event. In certain aspects, the disclosure provides methods for transmitting and receiving, between the AP and one or more STAs, an indication of an operating band switch. In some examples, the transmitting and receiving may use non-legacy elements configured to provide information about the operating band switch.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a wireless device may buffer uplink communications. However, such approaches may be improved. An access point (AP) may receive, from a station, uplink traffic of a traffic flow for forwarding to a backhaul network via a backhaul link. The AP may monitor a buffer of the AP to determine that a quantity of buffered uplink traffic received from the station exceeds a buffer quota, the buffer quota set for the traffic flow based on a traffic throughput capacity of the backhaul link and a throughput parameter for the traffic flow. The AP may modify, based on the quantity of buffered uplink traffic exceeding the buffer quota, an uplink communication scheme to reduce the quantity of uplink traffic from the station. The AP may communicate with the station based on the modified uplink communication scheme
Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for provisioning resources for wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to provisioning such resources based on a mapping of wireless communication devices to a number of time sectors that occur periodically and do not overlap other time sectors. In some aspects, each wireless stations (STAs) in a basic service set (BSS) may be mapped to a respective time sector based on attributes associated with the BSS so that communications between a STA and its associated access point (AP) can only occur within the respective time sector(s) to which the STA is mapped. In some other aspects, each AP in a multi-AP environment may be mapped to a respective time sector based on attributes associated with the multi-AP environment so that communications between an AP and its associated STAs can only occur within the respective time sector(s) to which the AP is mapped.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for asynchronous channel access control of a wireless system. In some aspects, a device may adjust the priority of one or more PPDUs and may perform other operations to ensure control of a wireless medium at certain times while still allowing for other devices to communicate on the wireless medium. For example, the device may adjust a backoff counter or one or more EDCA parameters to ensure obtaining control of the wireless medium to transmit a first PPDU of an application file. For one or more subsequent PPDUs of the application file, the device may again adjust a backoff counter or one or more EDCA parameters to allow other devices to obtain control of the wireless medium in certain scenarios (such as a second device to provide information back to the device or to otherwise transmit using the shared wireless medium).
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for high efficiency (HE) beacons. HE supported access points (APs) and stations (STAs) may operate on resource deployments used for Wi-Fi technology and without support for legacy devices, also referred to as a greenfield deployment. An AP may identify updated capability information and transmit a HE physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) including a beacon frame. A STA may receive, from the AP, the HE or EHT PPDU and identify an indication of change to a content or format of the beacon frame relative to a reference beacon frame. Based on the identified indication, the STA may then determine an updated content or format for the beacon frame and process the beacon frame or skip processing for one or more portions of the beacon frame.
Abstract:
Various aspects provide a wireless station (STA) to implement congestion sensitive target wake time (TWT) communications scheduling and enable the STA to determine whether to engage in communications between TWT service periods. A method described includes identifying a congestion metric, determining whether the congestion metric meets a congestion threshold, and transmitting a request to establish TWT communications in response to determining that the congestion metric meets the congestion threshold. Another method described includes terminating a scheduled service period of a TWT communications, receiving an indication that a threshold number of frames is available for transmission to an STA from an access point (AP) or an indication that one or more frames are present in a transmission queue at the STA, and transmitting, by the STA to the AP an indication that a communications link is to remain active between the terminated scheduled service period and a subsequent scheduled service period.
Abstract:
A system and method for managing communications between an access point (AP) and a plurality of wireless stations (STAs) over a wireless medium. The AP schedules each of the plurality of STAs to access the wireless medium during a target wake time (TWT) service period. During a first portion of the TWT service period, the AP communicates with a first subset of the plurality of STAs using a first signaling technique. During a second portion of the TWT service period, the AP communicates with a second subset of the plurality of STAs using a second signaling technique. The second subset of the plurality of STAs does not include any STAs from the first subset.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for operating an interface of an electronic device in an active mode or a power save mode based, at least in part, on a condition of a data exchange module buffer. When buffer space is available, incoming data may be stored locally and the interface used to access remote memory storage may be in a power save mode. The interface may revert to active mode to transfer data to the remote memory, such as after a configurable reception interval. Outgoing data may also be stored in a buffer, allowing the interface to be in a power save mode with information transmitted from the buffer.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are described for wireless communications coexistence. In one aspect, a first device may detect an interference produced by a second device co-located with the first device. The first device may communicate with an access point (AP) using a free or open band and the second device may communicate with a cellular network (e.g., LTE network). In response to the detected interference, a message may be transmitted to the AP from the first device with information for the AP to determine whether to switch to a different channel in the open band to communicate with the first device. The AP may receive such a message from each terminal in at least a subset of associated terminals. The AP may determine, from the messages received, to switch to the different channel in the open band and may transmit a message to the associated terminals indicating the switch.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for power conservation in a wireless communications system through efficient transmissions and acknowledgements of information between an AP and a station. The time between a determination by a station to enter a power saving mode and entering network sleep mode by the station may be reduced through a transmission, by an AP, of an MPDU to the station successive to an SIFS after transmission of an acknowledgement to the station of a PS-Poll frame from the station. The time to enter a power saving mode by a station may also be reduced through transmission of A-MPDUs in which a last MPDU of the A-MPDU has an indicator bit cleared to indicate no additional data is to be transmitted. An AP may prevent a retransmission of an MPDU to the station in the absence of an acknowledgement from the station, to further enhance efficiency.
