Abstract:
A nasal cannula holding assembly includes a pair of straps that each has a plurality of first holes extending therethrough and a plurality of second holes extending therethrough. Each of the straps includes a plurality of first engagements and a plurality of second engagements. Each of the first engagements engages a respective one of the first holes and each of the second engagements engages a respective one of the second holes. In this way a first loop and a second loop are defined on the straps to define a second loop thereby facilitating an oxygen tube of the nasal cannula to be extended therethrough. Thus, the oxygen tube is inhibited from contacting the user's eyes when the nasal cannula is worn.
Abstract:
An open architecture, wireless personal area network for receiving, storing, processing, displaying and communicating physiological data. The wireless personal area network may include a personal server, such as a cellular phone, and a plurality of sensors to monitor physiological signs, the user's motion, the user's orientation, and environmental factors. The sensors wirelessly provide data to the personal server, which may store, process, display, and communicate the data. An open architecture allows additional sensors to join the network without rendering the personal server irrelevant.
Abstract:
A directional lock for a caster. The caster has a wheel assembly including a wheel rotatable about a wheel axis and a housing for supporting the wheel. The housing defines a cavity for receiving a portion of the wheel. Also, the caster includes a stem supported by the housing and positionable in a chassis element, the wheel assembly being pivotally attached to the stem. The directional lock has an engagement portion and a base portion coupled to the engagement portion such that the engagement portion is movable relative to the base portion. The engagement portion is for engaging the wheel assembly to locate the wheel assembly in a predetermined position relative to the chassis element. The base portion is adapted to cooperate with the chassis element to maintain the engagement portion in a predetermined relation to the chassis element.
Abstract:
An outer seal assembly of a turbine rotor stage is secured within a circumferential groove of the turbine casing in such a manner as to both fix the outer seal assembly in its installed position and also provide for sealing around its outer periphery so as to thereby prevent the leakage of cooling air therearound. A plurality of arcuate elements having an angle-shaped cross sectional profile are provided to interface between radially extending arms of the outer seal assembly and the inner surface of the casing, with a locking mechanism then being applied to secure the two structures in their installed positions. Each of the arcuate elements includes a radially extending panel, a plurality of forwardly extending hooks that are disposed within a groove in the casing, and a second forwardly extending flange that engages the rear surface of the outer seal assembly arm. As the outer seal assembly arm is urged rearwardly during operation, the arcuate element is caused to rotate about a fulcrum in the circumferential groove such that a radially outer edge of the radially extending panel is urged against a casing inner surface so as to thereby enhance the sealing relationship therebetween.
Abstract:
Wildlife enthusiasts and hunters use attractants to increase their chances of being in the presence of desirable wildlife at a designated location. Enthusiasts and hunters use cover scents to mask the human odor thereby helping to prevent scaring the desired wildlife from a designated location. Enthusiasts and hunters use browse supplements to aid the overall health and increase the viability of the natural wildlife population, especially the whitetail deer population. The present invention combines all of these characteristics to attract deer, cover the human scent, and supplement the browse diet of the deer with a high percentage carbohydrate solution that contains other essential nutrients and minerals to increase the overall health of the deer and the wildlife population in general.
Abstract:
Disclosed are alkyl sulfoacetate compositions comprising a sulfonated ester of the formula:RO(CH.sub.2 CHR.sub.1 O).sub.n COCH.sub.2 SO.sub.3 MwhereR represents straight chain alkyl having from about 6 to 20 carbon atoms;R.sub.1 is hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl;n is 0, or an integer of from 1 to 20; andM represents a cation;the composition being substantially free from monochloroacetate salts and monochloroacetic acid. These compositions are prepared by reacting an alkyl chloroester of the formula RO(CH.sub.2 CHR.sub.1 O).sub.n COCH.sub.2 Cl where R, R.sub.1 and n are as defined above with an excess of sodium sulfite in the presence of a sulfitation catalyst at a temperature of at least about 75.degree. C. Also disclosed are oral care compositions comprising these surfactant compositions.
