摘要: A circuit and method for programming and control of an integrated circuit includes a control pin receiving an applied input voltage selected from a set of predetermined programming voltages and an on-chip control voltage decode circuit to select one of multiple programming states for the integrated circuit based on the applied input voltage. In one embodiment, an off-chip voltage divider is used to establish the set of predetermined programming voltages. The on-chip control voltage decode circuit includes a voltage divider to generate comparison voltage levels for detecting the voltage level of the input voltage for selecting the desired programming state. The comparison voltage levels include voltages having voltage values that are midway between pairs of adjacent programming voltages. The voltage decode circuit includes a control circuit receiving comparison results from comparators and generating an output control signal for selecting the desired digital state based on the comparison results.

摘要: Computer games deployed over communications networks such as the Internet are arranged with graphics rendering services to effect a real-time, automated fast rendering facility responsive to requests generated in view of game execution state. High-performance graphics authoring tools are used to produce graphics elements in agreement with a particular game design and scenario specification ‘on-the-fly’. These graphics are uploaded and stored in a database having a cooperating prescribed schema. A media player executing game logic is coupled to a render manager whereby render requests are passed thereto. The render manager forms scene files to be processed at a rendering application and finally to an assembler which converts all rendered graphics to a form usable at the media player. In this way, very high-quality real-time automated graphics generation is provided for bandwidth and memory limited platforms such as user workstations coupled to the Internet.

摘要: The present invention provides methods and apparatus for soil stabilization. First, a void is formed in the compromised soil strata. Then, an expandable member containing expandable materials is placed into the void. As the material expands to fill the void, the surrounding soil is compressed. This in situ compression if the soil increases the load bearing capacity and compressive strength of the soil. Additionally, the present invention provides a method for isolating the injected materials from the environment at the injection and/or polymerization point.

摘要: An accessory for improved comfort and security of grasping of a handheld electronic device is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the accessory comprises TYVEK® material, or paper-like material made from synthetic fibers that has significant strength properties and repels water. The paper-like material is rolled to form a first loop that is configured to receive an index finger of a user. Also in a preferred embodiment, a second loop is formed to receive a middle finger. The accessory makes holding the electronic device easier and further a user has more freedom to operate the device with a thumb without losing secure grasp of the device. In yet a separate embodiment, the invention may be incorporated into an exterior protective case of the device.

摘要: An intelligent power management system that includes a circuit breaker containing a PLC module that spans open contacts of the circuit breaker to provide a communication path for PLC messages between the line and load sides of the circuit when the contacts are open. The contacts are motorized to permit remote operation through PLC messaging. Coupled to the PLC module is a controller, which controls the opening and closing of the motorized contacts under user control or via an adaptive load management algorithm that reduces peak power consumption and adapts a set of loads to changed power supply conditions. The controller can also dynamically alter operational current and fault threshold levels on a real-time basis based upon circuit requirements or environmental conditions. The algorithm runs a state machine and also manages loads in a limited power source environment such as when loads are powered by a generator.

摘要: An independent automatic shedding system that automatically allows any combination of loads to powered under limited power availability (such as a standby power source) without overloading the generator or rewiring, while contributing to the stability of the power grid. A motorized disconnection actuation mechanism under control of a controller disconnects or recloses the contacts of a branch circuit breaker. A sensor detects the presence or absence of a power source and the type of power source, which is classified according to its type. A power source classification program is executed by the controller that interprets the sensor data and causes disconnection or reclosing of the disconnection actuation mechanism depending on a desired status (ON or OFF) of the branch circuit breaker when standby power is available. Conventional circuit protection is provided an optional advanced circuit protection such as ground or arc fault circuit interruption.

摘要: In a messaging system interfaced through the Internet, a method for processing a message from a sender and intended for delivery to at least one recipient, which sender is interfaced to the Internet through a sender server and which recipient is interfaced to the Internet through a recipient server, where the message includes at least recipient information and message body, is disclosed. The method includes testing the recipient information by establishing a temporary test connection through the Internet from the sender server to the recipient server, before relying on the recipient information for sending the message, so as to provide an indication of deliverability of the message to the recipient without using an SMTP VRFY command.
