摘要: A method for removing ionic species from a desalination unit, comprises: (a) circulating a wash stream in a closed loop comprising a desalination unit and a precipitation unit, the wash stream flowing at a linear velocity of at least 5 cm/second through the desalination unit, the wash stream becoming more saline after passage through the desalination unit; and (b) removing a portion of calcium sulfate from the wash stream by precipitation in the precipitation unit to obtain a supersaturation degree of calcium sulfate in the wash stream entering the desalination unit in a range of from about 1.0 to about 3.0.

摘要: A precipitation device comprises a precipitation element disposed within a vessel and configured to define a precipitation zone and a solid-liquid separation zone between the precipitation element and the vessel, the precipitation zone configured to receive a first stream of saline liquid and to precipitate solids from the saline liquid, the solid-liquid separation zone configured to settle the solids by gravity, and an exit port located in an upper portion of the vessel and configured for exit of a second stream of liquid of lower salinity than the first stream, wherein a ratio of a diameter of the vessel to a diameter of the precipitation element ranges from about 1.5 to about 2.8. Associated system and method are also provided.

摘要: A desalination system comprises an electrical separation device configured to receive and ionize a first stream for desalination and a crystallization device. The crystallization device is configured to provide a second stream to the electrical separation device to carry away ions from the first stream, and defining a crystallization zone for facilitating precipitation of the ions and a solid-liquid separation zone in fluid communication with the crystallization zone for separation of the precipitate. A desalination method is also presented.

摘要: An electrolysis device is disclosed for producing alkaline water from water including an electrolysis vessel, a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a bipolar membrane element, and at least one cation exchangeable membrane within the electrolysis vessel. The bipolar membrane element has a cation exchangeable side and an anion exchangeable side, the cation exchangeable side being closer to the negative electrode than the anion exchangeable side. The at least one cation exchangeable membrane is arranged between the anion exchangeable side of the bipolar membrane element and the positive electrode, so as to define an alkali chamber between the bipolar membrane element and the cation exchangeable membrane. An ionic exchange resin is associated with the vessel, whereby flow of the water though the vessel and the ionic exchange resin produces alkaline water in the alkali chamber. Various options and modifications are possible. A related washing machine such as a dishwasher is also disclosed.

摘要: An electrolysis device, for producing alkaline water from water, includes an electrolysis vessel, a pair of high porous electrodes arranged in the electrolysis vessel, and a cell unit arranged between the positive and negative electrodes. The pair of high porous electrodes respectively serve as a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The cell unit includes a bipolar membrane element and at least one cation exchangeable membrane. The bipolar membrane element has a cation exchangeable side and an anion exchangeable side. The cation exchangeable side is closer to the negative electrode than the anion exchangeable side. The cation exchangeable membrane is arranged between the anion exchangeable side of the bipolar membrane element and the positive electrode, so as to define an alkalic chamber between the bipolar membrane element and the cation exchangeable membrane.

The precipitation unit is configured to treat a solution using one or more miscible organic solvents to produce a mixture of precipitate solids and a liquid. The recovery unit is in fluid communication with the precipitation unit and configured to facilitate separating the liquid at least into an organic phase liquid and an aqueous phase liquid comprising a portion of the one or more miscible organic solvents. The treatment system further comprises a purification unit comprising one or more membrane devices in fluid communication with the recovery unit and configured to separate at least a portion of the one or more miscible organic solvents in the aqueous phase liquid from the aqueous phase liquid. A treatment system and a treatment process are also presented.
