    摘要: A water purifier which produces ultrapure water from a variety of feed sources. The feed source water may be potable tap, distilled, deionized, or water treated by reverse osmosis. The water is passed through a first purification media (30) and then through a chamber (34) where it is exposed to ultraviolet light in the presence of titanium dioxide. The water is then passed through a second purification media (38) to a dispensing valve (40). Operating the dispensing valve (40) provides ultrapure water from the purifier having a specific resistance of at least 18.0 megohm-cm and a TOC count of less than one ppb.

    摘要: A computer system having an expansion base for docking a portable portion of the computer system includes a bridge circuit for adaptively decoding addresses on a bus based on the docking status. Both the expansion base and the portable portion include the bridge circuit for passing cycles from a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus to an industry standard architecture (ISA) bus. The bridge includes internal devices and configuration registers for controlling the decoding. Bus cycles intended for internal devices and external devices connected to each respective ISA bus of the bridge circuits are positively decoded. Cycles not positively decoded and claimed are subtractively decoded by one of the bridge circuits depending on the docking status.

    摘要: A motion support mechanism, for example for a chair, joined to a mounting surface and to a base for providing resistive support to the mounting surface as the mounting surface undergoes one or both of rotational and tilt movement relative to the base. The motion support mechanism includes a support bearing connected to the mounting surface and to the base which permits one or both of tilting and rotational motion of the mounting surface relative to the base, a pivot ball sized fixedly attached to a portion of the base, and, a resistance cartridge fixedly connected to the mounting surface such that the resistance cartridge undergoes movement relative to the base and applies a resistive force on the base as the mounting surface undergoes one or both of rotational and tilt movement. The resistance cartridge includes a cartridge housing and a resilient member in contact relation with the pivot ball and with a wall of the housing such that the resilient member is compressed by the relative movement between the resistance cartridge and the pivot ball to thereby provide the resistive support to the mounting surface. Preferably, the resistive support also provides a dampening feature, for example by way of the resilient member being formed from a viscoelastic material. A means for varying the resistance applied is provided that permits the distance between the bearing surface and the pivot ball to be varied.
