Abstract:
A catalytic process for the synthesis of trifluoroethylene from chlorotrifluoroethylene which comprises contacting chlorotrifluoroethylene with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst consisting of palladium or platinum supported on extruded activated carbon.
Abstract:
A process for reducing the number of unstable end-groups in a fluorinated polymer is disclosed, said process comprising reacting a fluorinated polymer comprising unstable end-groups with fluorine in the presence of at least one (per)haloolefin comprising at least one carbon-carbon double bond and having at least one fluorine or chlorine atom on either one of the carbon atoms of said double bond. The fluorinated polymer may be selected from those polymers comprising recurring units derived from at least one ethylenically unsaturated fluorinated monomer or from fluorinated polyethers.

Abstract:
Electrode compositions [binder (B)] for use in the preparation of electrodes for electrochemical devices, including a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE); and a low melting point VDF-based fluororesin [polymer (A)] having a melting point of less than 220° C., said polymer (A) comprising: at least 50% by moles of recurring units derived from VDF, with respect to all recurring units of said polymer (A), and recurring units derived from at least one comonomer (CM), said comonomer (CM) being selected from a hydrophilic (meth)acrylic comonomer [comonomer (MA)] and a fluorinated comonomer [comonomer (F)].
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for making an electrolyte layer suitable for use in an electrochromic device, combining transparency and adhesion to glazing, to an electrolyte layer obtained therefrom, to an electrochromic device comprising the same, and to its use as glazing.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to a composition based on a fluoroelastomer comprising nitrile or carboxylate-type cure sites and including a curing agent and a Br-containing marker having reactivity towards the said cure-sites, which can be cured so as to deliver cured parts maintaining chemically bound bromine atoms; this material, when submitted to wear/damage would hence release Br-containing contaminants, which can easily spotted via notably an on-line mass spectrometer, so as to monitor and anticipate critical failures of sealing materials based there upon.
