Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition having antimicrobial properties, in particular antiviral properties, as an additive for surface coatings of substrates. The composition includes at least one polyol or a glycol ether; at least one compound of the general formula (I) R1a SiX(4-a), where X is alkoxy, and R1 is an organic moiety selected from the group including alkyl, cycloalkyl, or phenyl and a=1, 2, 3, in particular 1 or 2; at least one compound of the general formula (II) SiX4, where X is alkoxy; and at least one antimicrobial active ingredient, in particular at least one biocide.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a water-resistant fiberboard including lignocellulosic fibers and binders. In order to provide a cost-effective, water-resistant fiberboard, the following steps are provided: providing lignocellulosic fibers, providing the binder, providing an elasticizing additive, applying the binder and the elasticizing additive, forming the fiber cake from the fibers provided with binder and elasticizing additive, pressing the fiber cake in a press while curing of the binder to manufacture a fiberboard, wherein 15 wt. % to 35 wt. % melamine resin, phenolic resin, mixtures and mixed condensates thereof or guanamine resin and 5 wt. % to 20 wt. % urea resin as binders as well as 0.1 wt. % to 7 wt. % of the elasticizing additive, in each case based on the total weight of the fiberboard (atro), are used. The invention further includes a water-resistant fiberboard.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for producing a wood-based material panel with the steps: producing a raw wood-based material panel which includes a first lateral surface and a second lateral surface that runs parallel to the first lateral surface, and edge surfaces that connect the lateral surfaces to each other; applying a liquid containing a flame retardant at least to the first lateral surface; and applying a negative pressure to the second lateral surface so that the liquid containing the flame retardant is sucked into a peripheral zone of the raw wood-based material panel, and/or applying an overpressure to the first lateral surface so that the liquid containing the flame retardant is pressed into a peripheral zone of the raw wood-based material panel, resulting in the wood-based material panel.
