    摘要: The present invention provides a method for isolating biopolymers, particularly nucleic acids, such as DNA or RNA or hybrid molecules of DNA and RNA, from an aqueous solution utilizing magnetic particles, particularly silica magnetic particles. The method of the present invention involves forming a complex of the magnetic particles and the biopolymer in a mixture of said particles and said aqueous solution, comprising a salt and an additive; separating the complex from the mixture by a magnetic force, and eluting the biopolymer from the complex, wherein advantageously no substantial clustering of said magnetic particles occurs during the performance of the method. In a preferred embodiment the method of the invention is performed as an automated process.

    摘要: Azimuth angle of the capstan of a magnetic-tape-cassette apparatus is measured using a cassette having a reference sensor which engages the cassette, and at least one measurement sensor which engages the cassette at a location spaced axially from the reference sensor. The measurement sensor includes an electrical measuring element such as a strain gauge which provides an indication of the position of the element with respect to the reference sensor. The azimuth angle can readily be computed using the known axial spacing between the sensors and the electrical value transmitted from the measurement sensor.

    摘要: The invention provides titanium dioxide pigments for plastics resin compositions which are excellent in dispersibility, light resistance, and weather resistance and little cause surface imperfection. In particular, the invention provides a titanium dioxide pigment suitable for general-purpose plastics resin compositions which can attain excellent dispersion and lacing resistance even when blended in a high concentration; a titanium dioxide pigment suitable for engineering plastics resin compositions which can attain dispersion properties, silver streaking resistance, inhibition of reduction in molecular weight, and thermal discoloration resistance at high levels; a process for the production of the pigments; and resin compositions containing the pigments. A titanium dioxide pigment for plastics resin compositions, characterized in that each titanium dioxide particle has a dense hydrous silica coat covering its surface and an organic compound coat formed on the silica coat not through an interlayer.

    摘要: A method for isolating polynucleotides, such as DNA, RNA and hybrids thereof from an aqueous solution containing polynucleotides by reversibly binding the polynucleotides to silica-coated magnetic particles in the presence of a salt and non-ionic hydratable additive is disclosed. The salt and non-ionic hydratable additive concentrations are adjusted to levels that result in adhesion of the nucleic acid to the particles without degradation or precipitation of the nucleic acid.
