    摘要: A device for detecting abnormality of the fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine inhibits supply of evaporative fuel to the intake passage when the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient becomes smaller than a predetermined value, and thereafter determines that the fuel supply system is normal when the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient increases above the predetermined value as a result of the inhibition of the supply of the evaporative fuel. The supply of the evaporative fuel to the intake passage is resumed after the determination that the fuel supply system is normal has been made. Determination of abnormality of the fuel supply system is inhibited after resuming of the supply of the evaporative fuel until the engine enters a predetermined operating condition in which the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient has increased. The determination of abnormality of the fuel supply system is permitted to be resumed, based on the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient when the engine has entered the predetermined operating condition.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine has an exhaust gas component concentration sensor having a sensor element and arranged in the exhaust system of the engine, for detecting concentration of a predetermined component present in exhaust gases emitted from the engine. An ECU controls the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine, based on results of comparison between an output value from the sensor and a predetermined reference value, and detects deterioration of the exhaust gas component concentration sensor, based on the output value from the sensor. Engine operating condition sensors detect operating conditions of the engine. It is determined whether or not the engine is in a predetermined engine operating condition in which the sensor element temperature of the exhaust gas component concentration sensor lowers, based on outputs from the engine operating condition sensors. Detection of deterioration of the sensor is inhibited over a predetermined time period after the engine leaves the predetermined operating condition.

    摘要: An evaporative fuel control system for an internal combustion engine having a throttle valve arranged in the intake system. A canister adsorbs evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank. A purging passage extends between the canister and the intake system, for purging evaporative fuel into the intake system at a location downstream of the throttle valve, and a purge control valve is arranged across the purging passage, for controlling the flow rate of evaporative fuel supplied to the intake system through the purging passage. When the engine is in a predetermined operating condition, the flow rate of evaporative fuel supplied to the engine is changed by controlling the purge control valve, then the degree of influence of the evaporative fuel on an air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine is detected before and after the changing of the flow rate of the evaporative fuel, and an operating error of the purge control valve is determined based on the detected degree of influence.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio sensor deterioration-detecting system is provided for an internal combustion engine having first and second air-fuel ratio sensors arranged in the exhaust system upstream and downstream of a catalytic converter therein. An ECU calculates a control parameter, based on an output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor, calculates an air-fuel ratio correction amount, based on an output from the first air-fuel ratio sensor and the calculated control parameter, and executes air-fuel ratio feedback control, based on the calculated air-fuel ratio correction amount. The ECU also determines deterioration of the second air-fuel ratio sensor, based on the output from the same in such a manner that the air-fuel ratio correction amount is increased or decreased by a predetermined amount, based on the output from the second air-fuel ratio when a variation in the second air-fuel ratio sensor output falls within a predetermined small variation range during execution of the air-fuel ratio feedback control, and the second air-fuel ratio sensor is determined to be deteriorated when the output variation falls within the predetermined small variation range even after the increase or decrease of the air-fuel ratio correction amount.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio sensor deterioration-detecting system for an internal combustion engine includes a catalytic converter arranged in the exhaust system, first and second air-fuel ratio sensors arranged in the exhaust system at respective locations upstream and downstream of the catalytic converter, and an ECU which calculates a value of a first control parameter, based on an output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor, and executes air-fuel ratio feedback control, based on the calculated value of the first control parameter. A value of a second control parameter to be used for calculating the value of the first control parameter is calculated based on the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor. Whether the second air-fuel ratio sensor is deteriorated is determined based on the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor. A value of at least one of the first and second control parameters is increased when a variation in the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor is small during execution of the air-fuel ratio feedback control, and it is determined that the second air-fuel ratio sensor is deteriorated when the variation in the output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor is continuously small over a predetermined time period after the value of the at least one of the first and second control parameters has been increased.
