The electronic device includes an input sensing module that detects at least two inputs and a processor that controls the electronic device to perform a function corresponding to an input received through the input sensing module, wherein the input sensing module includes at least one fingerprint recognition sensor, at least one touch sensor, and an input processor electrically connected to the at least one fingerprint recognition sensor and the at least one touch sensor and that processes an input received from the at least one fingerprint recognition sensor or the at least one touch sensor and that transfers the input to the processor.

The electronic device may include: a display having a biometric sensing region; a biometric sensor disposed in the biometric sensing region; and a processor. The processor may be configured to: operate a first sub-region of the biometric sensing region according to a first display attribute and operate a second sub-region of the biometric sensing region according to a second display attribute; while the first sub-region is operated according to the first display attribute and the second sub-region is operated according to the second display attribute, obtain, through the biometric sensor, a signal corresponding to an external object, wherein the signal is generated at least partially based on light that is emitted from the first sub-region or the second sub-region and reflected by the external object; perform authentication on the external object if the signal satisfies a specified condition; and prevent authentication on the external object if the signal does not satisfy the specified condition.

According to various embodiments, an electronic device includes: a housing; a display exposed through a part of the housing and located within the housing; a fingerprint sensor located at a portion of the housing and coupled with the display; a processor electrically coupled with the display and the fingerprint sensor; and at least one memory electrically coupled with the processor, wherein the memory stores fingerprint data for confirmation and stores instructions to be executed by the processor and the instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to receive the fingerprint data of a user using the fingerprint sensor, to analyze the received fingerprint data to determine whether at least a part of the fingerprint data is a result of at least a part of the finger at least partially covered with an external material, and to at least partially compare a part of the stored fingerprint data for confirmation with the analyzed fingerprint data.

Various examples of the present invention relate to a method for controlling a biosensor linked with a display, the method comprising: acquiring an input of a user on the basis of a first region corresponding to the biosensor and a second region which corresponds to a touch sensor and is adjacent to at least a part of the first region; confirming an input shape corresponding to the input of the user; and acquiring, through a control of the biosensor, bio-information corresponding to the input of the user when the confirmed input shape satisfies a predetermined condition. Other embodiments are also possible.
