摘要: A retractor for use with a seat belt is capable of releasing a state of end lock without using a complicated structure of a locking mechanism for operating the locking of the retractor in the case of an emergency of a vehicle. The retractor contains an angular engaging surface at one end of a winding shaft, that engages with a retractor base at certain portions. The angular engaging surface has a groove in the direction of a circumference of the winding shaft into which the portions may be engaged. This groove helps to prevent the displacement of the winding shaft in the direction of thrust and allows for superior locking.

摘要: It is an object to provide a retractor for a seat belt having a locking means and a shaft which can be twisted and exhibiting satisfactory safety. A retractor 1 for a seat belt according to the present invention having a locking means 100, which is capable of inhibiting rotation of a bobbin 3 around which a webbing 50 is wound in a direction in which the webbing 50 is drawn out in an emergency of a vehicle, a torsion bar 200A is disposed between the bobbin 3 and the locking means 100 and arranged to be twisted to respond to the instance wherein a predetermined load is applied to the locking means 100 so as to rotate the bobbin 3 in the direction in which the webbing 50 is drawn out. The retractor 1 for a seat belt has a rotation restraining mechanism 300 for restraining rotation of the bobbin 3 when the bobbin 3 has been rotated by a predetermined angle in the direction in which the webbing 50 is drawn out to correspond to torsion of the torsion bar 200A.

摘要: A retractor for use with a seat belt is capable of releasing a state of end lock easily without using a complicated structure of the lock operation means for operating the lock means in the case of an emergency of a vehicle. There are provided pawls (16, 13) capable of checking the rotation of the bobbin (3) in the webbing drawing direction when the pawls are engaged with inner teeth (2a, 2c) arranged on the side plates (1a, 1b) of the retractor base (1). The pawls (16, 13) are supported so that they can be relatively moved with respect to the bobbin (3) in the rotational direction of the winding shaft by a predetermined distance. In the normal operation, the ratchet wheel (18) follows the rotation of the bobbin (3). When the ratchet wheel (18) is relatively rotated with respect to the bobbin (3) in the webbing winding direction, the pawls (16, 13) are engaged with the inner teeth (2a, 2c). When the pawls (16, 13) are relatively rotated with respect to the bobbin (3), one end of the oscillating lever member (20) to reverse the ratchet wheel (18) in the webbing winding direction is connected to the ratchet wheel (18), and the middle portion is engaged with the pawl (16), and the other end is engaged with the bobbin (3).

摘要: A retractor for a seat belt includes a winding force reducing mechanism for reducing a webbing winding force when an occupant wears the seat belt. The retractor includes a base; a winding shaft supported rotatably on base for winding a webbing; a first winding spring for energizing the winding shaft in a webbing winding direction; a second winding spring disposed on the winding shaft in parallel to said first winding spring; and gear unit interposed between the winding shaft and the second winding spring for applying the energizing force of the second winding spring to the winding shaft in the same direction as the energizing force of the first winding spring and for tightening the second winding spring in an elastic energy storing direction by means of the energizing force of the first winding spring. The gear unit is structured such that, when the seat belt is in use, the elastic energy of the second winding spring stored therein can act in a manner to cancel the energizing force of the first winding spring so that a reduced energizing force in the webbing winding direction can be applied to the winding shaft.

摘要: A spindle (2) of a seat belt retractor is rotationally driven when required by a motor (5) to the webbing take-up direction side through a power transmission mechanism section (6). Further, the spindle (2) is always connected to a take-up spring (7) and is always subjected to rotational power acting to the webbing take-up side. The structure enables a user wearing a seat belt to be restrained even in failure, realizing a safer and more reliable restraining device.

摘要: A starting device (21, 121, 41) for actuating a gas generator (8) by striking a detonator (10) in response to an acceleration of a predetermined level or more. The starting device includes a firing pin (22), an inertial mass (23), an annular permanent magnet (24) and an erroneous-actuation preventing mechanism (9, 109, 42). The firing pin (22) is capable of igniting the detonator (10) by moving toward and colliding against the detonator (10). The inertial mass (23) is made of a cylindrical permanent magnet for supplying kinetic energy to the firing pin (22). The annular permanent magnet (24) has an inside diameter larger than an outside diameter of the inertial mass (23). The erroneous-actuation preventing mechanism (9,109, 42) prevents the erroneous actuation of the starting device (21, 121, 41). The erroneous-actuation preventing mechanism (9,109, 42) includes a restricting member for selectively setting the inertial mass (23) in a nonmovable state and in a movable state.
