A novel aqueous organopolysiloxane emulsion composition of the oil-in-water type suitable as an additive ingredient in toiletry preparations for hair-care treatment, of which the organopolysiloxane particles have a relatively large volume-average particle diameter of 3 to 100 .mu.m as emulsified by using a quaternary ammonium chloride as a cationic surface active agent. The emulsion composition is advantageous in respect of the improved stability of the emulsion and increased retention on the hair treated with the hair-care composition. The emulsion composition is prepared in a process comprising the steps of: mixing the organopolysiloxane and the cationic surface active agent with a relatively small volume of water; vigorously agitating the mixture so as to cause phase inversion into an oil-in-water base emulsion; and diluting the base emulsion with an additional volume of water, optionally, containing the cationic surface active agent.

Proposed is a reliable method for the preparation of a water-base hair-care or skin-care toiletry preparation capable of imparting the hair or skin of the user with excellent touch feeling of smoothness and sleekness. The method comprises (a) preparing an aqueous dispersion of globular particles of a cured silicone rubber having a specified average particle diameter by the in situ crosslinking hydrosilation reaction in liquid droplets of a vinyl group-containing dimethylpolysiloxane and an organohydrogenpolysiloxane in combination in the presence of a surface active agent and (b) admixing a base mixture consisting of the principal ingredients of a water-base toiletry composition with a specified amount of the aqueous dispersion of the cured silicone rubber particles.

The aqueous silicone emulsion composition is a uniform blend which comprises:(A) 100 parts by weight of an aqueous base emulsion of an organopolysiloxane consisting of(A1) from 10 to 70% by weight of an organopolysiloxane having at least two hydroxyl groups bonded to the silicon atoms in a molecule, in which from 0.01 to 10% by moles of the monovalent hydrocarbon groups are alkenyl groups,(A2) from 0.01 to 10% by weight of an anionic surface active agent, and(A3) the balance of water;(B) from 1 to 60 parts by weight of an aqueous dispersion consisting of(B1) from 5 to 50% by weight of a solution containing, in an at least partly water-miscible organic solvent, from 10 to 90% by weight of a reaction product between an amino group-containing hydrolyzable organosilane compound or a partial hydrolysis product thereof and a polycarboxylic acid anhydride, and(B2) from 50 to 95% by weight of an aqueous colloidal silica dispersion containing from 10 to 50% by weight of colloidal silica particles; and(C) from 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a curing catalyst.

Disclosed is a novel polypropylene resin composition which is outstandingly free from surface tackiness and still has good transparency so as to be useful as a material of resin films used for wrapping. The resin composition comprises, as a uniform blend, (a) 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin, and (b) from 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of an inorganic oxide powder which is a product obtained by the deflagration of an inorganic oxidizable powder, e.g., an elementary silicon powder, in an oxidizing atmosphere such as air. By virtue of the unique method for the preparation of the silicon dioxide powder, the particles have high surface activity so that the surface properties of the resin composition or, in particular, resin films prepared therefrom can be greatly improved even with a relatively small amount of the inorganic oxide powder compounded as an anti-blocking agent not to badly affect the transparency.
